No, you never "get in trouble" for block hitting. People just don't like you doing it because it can sometimes give an advantage if done right.

It annoys me when people block hit, but I don't think it's necessarily stupid in all cases. Like when you obviously have the disadvantage, then feel free to block hit, fair enough. But if you are in a fairly equal fight, then I don't understand why you would want to do it, because I will take it as you just not trusting your PvP skill.

I only block hit when either my opponent is block hitting, maybe when I'm up against a team bigger than my team, maybe if I have an armour disadvantage or if I'm on fire. Also, maybe if I'm desperate when I'm at low health.

It's not stupid. It's a tactic. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's stupid. I personally don't block hit (unless necessary), but I respect those who do. It's their choice, and bloody good one if you do it right. Do I think block hitting is stupid? The only real option in this scenario is, in fact, Balloons.
