We're aware of some issues relating to the anti-cheat and some erroneous behavior that came along with the patch yesterday evening. Despite our testing efforts, it does seem that some behavior in production did not match up with what we saw in development and experimental servers.

A configuration change has taken place to, potentially, reflect positively on the issues that have been the major point of trouble for the past ~12 hours.

We appreciate any and all elaborate feedback, as it helps us discover what went wrong, how it went wrong, and what can be done to fix it.

Please keep this discussion to your own individual reports and no extraneous replies, as it allows us to quickly filter through individual reports. If you are experiencing similar troubles as another user, please show your support through reactions on the post or post your own feedback describing similar behavior. Do NOT post anything dated prior to this posting.

The following information should be posted when making a reply in this thread:
  1. What server and region were you on?
  2. What problem did you experience when playing?
  3. What time and date (if not today) did you play?
  4. What map were you on?
  5. If you were "rubberbanded," what were you doing at the time?
  6. What Minecraft version are you on?
  7. Any other details that may allow us to further troubleshoot?
Additionally, you may also issue a /bugreport and that can provide a number of the listed items above; in particular: 1, 3, 4, 6. If doing so, please answer questions 2, 5, and 7, as well as provide the issue ID from in-game. The /bugreport command needs to be issued from the server you were on, preferably as the issue is occurring or just thereafter. /bugreport description, etc. does not matter when posting here.

  1. What server and region were you on? OCE
  2. What problem did you experience when playing? Consistent rubberbanding and awful hit detection that caused people to be unhittable for a few seconds when fighting.
  3. What time and date (if not today) did you play? Yesterday (12th of November in New Zealand)
  4. What map were you on? This occurred multiple times across all maps, but notably Alaskan Village (which the lightning strikes far too early on, by the way), SG4 and Valleyside.
  5. If you were "rubberbanded," what were you doing at the time? Running, just on pretty much any block, but it is worse on slabs, carpet and grass.
  6. What Minecraft version are you on? 1.7.10
  7. Any other details that may allow us to further troubleshoot? Not really, mainly just the fact that the rubberbanding holds you on the same block, not allowing you to move.

Please include the server, not just the region. There are 40-some odd servers in OCE and thus your information becomes useless without us being able to see what is happening server side. As mentioned in the original post, what do you mean by rubber banding? What are you doing when it happens?

Reports from before my post are useless as well. Changes have been made prior to my post.

I don't know how I'm expected to remember the exact server I was playing on, but from memory, all the 24 players ones were affected. I literally say in the post it happens when running on grass, slabs and carpet mainly but sometimes other blocks are affected as well. Rubber banding is when you stick to one block on the ground, and the anti-cheat will not let you move, most often on grass, slabs and carpet.

It's expected that you're making a report during or just after a game, as well as providing all the details listed in the first post. I did miss that you provided the feedback for what actually occurred with the rubberbanding, so that's my bad; I had checked this thread from mobile while out and about and overlooked it.

I understand you're not going to remember the server ID if you're referring to an earlier incident, however, the point of the thread is to preemptively ask players to log incidents in-game using /bugreport, save an ID it spits out to you, then post here with the other relevant details. Otherwise, log the details from in-game appropriately and post them later if you don't want to do a /bugreport.

Without the server ID, the feedback is effectively useless as we need to see what the server shows for your player during the specified events. If you're broadly stating an entire region, I'm not going to hunt for which server you were on, whereas others are providing the information in full in Discord and (hopefully) will be providing details here soon. While we may not be running the several hundreds of Minecraft servers per region just yet like we were back in the day, it's still thousands of log files to go through and there's no telling what the actual game you're referring to is.

Ultimately, the point I'm trying to get across is that I don't have the time for playing hide and seek with data. Honestly speaking, that's taking time out of my time billed to the community trying to find information that I've straight up asked for from the start. Yes, it's a fair bit of information in aggregate, but it's not a lot to ask for when you're expecting to provide it. T0he majority of it is simply saving the server ID and region during a game.

Instead of data hide and seek, I'd rather spend the time running test games with a public group to grab information from the production servers and make tweaks from there. I've been doing this as often as I can, minus the weekend (because those are my days off), ever since we started anti-cheat updates.

If you are able to log all the appropriate details from the first post, which does include the server ID, please do post it here so we can make improvements. And again, any details prior to today are irrelevant as some major changes that influences a variety of anti-cheat checks were made about 4-6 hours ago. There'll be a variety of changes taking place within the next 4-5 hours as well, but likely only to be on experimental servers for the next ~16 hours, followed by production server change tomorrow morning.

As of this reply, please ensure to only post information from experimental servers. A number of major changes have taken place which renders any data useless not on this configuration.

Known issue: running and jumping explicitly on stairs with separated half slabs next to the stairs.

Update has been pushed to all production servers for further testing as of about 30 minutes ago.

I will try to include all of the information asked for, here we are:

1) There's some issue going on in some servers (didn't experience it on NA for example, did on EU which is my region, where my ping is the lowest and it doesn't even happen in all servers) where you mostly get ghosted/ghosted back while running, airstuck in slabs/glass panes/fences which cannot be fixed by doing /gf. It seems to be server side, but apparently using ToggleSprint makes it a little worse a friend of mine told me after some of his experimenting
This bug stands on EU as of right now.

2) Sometimes, the Nocheat randomly kicks you (I have no idea how this happens, in SG it happened to me and a friend only once for each of us in separate games, so umm, yeah, don't really know) - I also found a way to get purposely kicked in Battlegrounds by 1v1ing someone using fists and shifting while straightlining to gain less kb (which works kind of like W-tapping/S-tapping)
My friend got randomly kicked today, I did over a week ago, the Battlegrounds thing is from a couple days ago

3) On EU, I have noticed definitely some hit detection issues:
when chasing someone, you can try to hit them, get crit particles but the hit won't register...
Also on EU, when fighting in general there can be such issues happening at random times, this video should give you an idea, you can tell the person recording had many hits not register through the second half of the fight:
This can also happen for way longer than he experienced, and can especially be extremely frustrating

The link has timestamp, basically at the end of the video my friend included a bunch of clips showing bugs happening in EU.. You can ask any EU player and they'll confirm it's not just the person's connection or anything like that :b
