Now I do not really speak of this in real life as it wasn't the best time for me. I never felt suicidal during this time, but I wasn't far off. I thought about how the world would do better without me, how another person would be born to replace me. In this post, I want to talk about my depression in which I have overcome and how you can help your depression. I am not some scientific genius who knows the ins and outs of depression, but I can state some facts and things that helped me overcome it.
- Overcoming your Depression -Some things that can help you recover from depression are:
- A hobby (dancing, singing, gaming, skating etc.)
- A friend that you trust, you can talk to, relate with and laugh with.
- Medication (I do not recommend this, but as a last option, this would probably help you.)
Thank you for listening to my story, for anyone who suffers from depression, keep your head up high
- My Story -
So here it is. I was 13 when I started becoming lazier, more tired and didn't feel like doing anything. I slept and layed in bed until 1:00, sometimes 2:00 and I became unfit, unhealthy and I was not in the best mental state. The only times I would wake up were for school, and some weekends to do things with mates. I barely used social media and I stayed inside gaming a lot. I played solo and only talked to some irl friends occasionally. I stopped talking to online friends for 8-9 months and only came back recently. Most of my friends know that I laugh at my own jokes, because I have my own sense of humor, with my own jokes that I find funny. I laughed at some things my friends said, but most of the time I was faking. I stopped speaking to everyone, put on some weight and really didn't do much. My parents started noticing this, and they helped me. They didn't want a 13-14 year old son progressively dying mentally every single day. I started seeing a psychologist and we discussed ways to help my future. I found that gaming actually helped me from depression as it was a hobby and was also something that I enjoyed putting time and effort into. Some people find speaking to people or medication to be helpful, but for me it was as simple as something I enjoyed in life.- Overcoming your Depression -
