This is the idea I suggested AGES ago, back in May or early June. I've just made some changes to it to make it more balanced with the system now.
How will it work?
How this sponsor system works is using points. You can use x amount of points to give a player the item.
How will this not be overpowered?
So that it's not overpowered in any way, it would just be better foods, secondary weapons or arrows or something like that. It will also cost a fair price depending on what item it is. In addition, each player can only be sponsored twice each game. In addition, greenshirtman has suggested that their be a 5 minute wait in between sponsorships on a single player. Maybe 3-4 minutes would be enough, but unless someone prefers those numbers I will keep it at 5 for now
How is this better than potions?
The potions are overpowered in many people's opinions. So far I've seen too many forum browsers complaining about it and not a single good thing about the sponsoring system being implemented with the potions that I believe most people will think of this as a better solution.
I still don't understand.
Well, here's an example. Let's say you can sponsor any of the food items in tier 2 chests (Gold-Nugget Apple ), Cooked Foods, Soup, Bread (I think, either way it should be included), and Iron or Gold Ingots, a Flint and Steel, a Bow, or an Arrow. Maybe if people want, they can also sponsor Leather/Gold Armour which would be more expensive than other items.
(100)SPEC: PlayerA wants to sponsor his friend PlayerB with a golden apple. This golden apple costs him 75 bounty points. This will reduce him down to 25 points, and PlayerB will get a golden apple.
Now PlayerB is in a touch situation. His opponent has better gear than him, but he doesn't have any arrows to shoot with! So, since (25)SPEC: PlayerA has enough points to give PlayerB an arrow, he sponsors it with his last 25 bounty reducing him to 0 bounty.
PlayerB still isn't done yet though. PlayerC decides to sneak attack him while PlayerB is looking through the chests at refill. The kind (1337)SPEC:HalfSquirrel wants to give PlayerB a Flint and Steel to help him out with his battle. This costs him 100 bounty. Alas, but no! PlayerB has already been given 2 items, so he can't get sponsored this 3rd time by the kind (1337)SPEC:HalfSquirrel.
So PlayerB dies and PlayerC wins blah blah blah Here are some prices.
Weapons:
-Bow 120 bounty
-Flint and Steel 150 bounty
NO SWORDS! Only secondary weapons.
Food:
-Mushroom Stew 40 bounty
-Steak 50 bounty
-Cooked Porkchop 50 bounty
-Cooked
-Cooked Fish 30 bounty
-Bread 30 bounty
-Apple 20 bounty
-Golden Apple 100 bounty
Armor:
-Any Leather Armor 120 bounty
-Any Gold Armor 180 bounty
No Iron or Chain armour, too OP.
Ingots:
-Iron Ingot 130 bounty
-Gold Ingot 80 bounty (it's fairly useless...)
No Diamonds, also too OP
**Each person can only get 1 item every 5 minutes, and 2 items total.
If you still don't understand, I will be glad to answer any questions you had . Sadly, because I accidentally created the thread at the wrong time, I can't add a poll
