Why are 3/5 OTP options homosexual in the male region? Why isn't there a female homosexual option to choose?

Also, why are mods' relationships with each other so publicized? Is this okay? Like I remember when I OTP'd someone with my friends when I was a mod, 2 out of 3 of us got a strike.
