No religion is perfect, every religion has its disgusting parts and its beautiful parts, and Islam isn't any different. Sure Islam means "Peace" but once you actually read the book and realize some of the stuff that is written there, you'll find that some of the parts that are mentioned there aren't "peaceful", and are just... yeah...
It is true that terrorism has no religion, but a lot of the terrorist attacks have been caused by religion, and there is no deny of that a lot of them were motivated by Islamic beliefs, which begs the question "Why?" (notice how I didn't say all terrorist attacks were carried by Muslims).
But I agree to your general message, no group of people should be generalized by the actions of few, and it sucks that a lot of people take it as if all Muslims are terrorists, when clearly they are just Muslims who wish to live in peace just like any normal person on earth.
This is just my own opinion, you may argue against it as you will, and I'll respond accordingly.
