Our community has literally grown over night and costs to maintain it has increased as well! Managing this 576 slot server (288 slots per location) brings some large costs for renting the hardware to run all of these games. We have to pay for the servers, web hosting, IRC chat, TeamSpeak, maintaining the plugin, and other unexpected costs. In order for our community to grow, we need help from the community in order to do that.

How you can help?

By upgrading your account, you will help us out by cutting the costs down and possibly have enough to expand more.

What are the perks?

Servers are always full? All donors have what we call "Donor Priority" where you can log into a server that is full. The server will kick the last joined spectator (not a tribute) to make room for you. Each donor rank has its own special color in game so people can see you have supported in the game and on the forums.

If you want to help out our community, please click here (you must be logged into your account) to upgrade your account through our forums. All donations upgrades in game can take up to 24 hours. Thanks everyone for the support as we really appreciate you helping us pick up the bill!

Isn't kicking a bit... harsh? Can't there be a queue system with donor priority (those plugins exist) or reserved slots?

(I will donate thats not the point, but its still kinda mean.)

If a person has paid to support the community, then we feel they should have the option to log in to any server. We talked about a queue system, but it would waste a bunch of unused slots. Plus the benefit of this is that once more people donate, we can afford more servers to make more room for the public.

Good Point. Like what if a game is about to start and I get kicked? You wait for an hour to play and get kicked?

EDIT: And shouldn't you have another server for the donators?

I wouldn't even mention it if that was the only solution.
But what exactly is wrong with queue plugins? Those should be useful for everyone to stand in a queue instead of spamming refresh all the time, also I saw some that could prioritize certain players (who donated etc.)

The reason why we kicked the last join person, is that most likely that player had recently joined the server. We already do this for ops when they need to log into the servers, so its nothing different.

What about additional servers for only donators? Sort of like member worlds on other games.

I just want to know what's wrong with the other possible solutions to this.
Then I'll shut up and accept it as the only choice :)

That would work if there are a lot of donators, I think they'll have to see how many there are first.

purplepieman, we also talked about that option as well but the donor servers might be empty a lot of the time because we assumed they wanted to play with other people while having the server full. If we get a influx of donors we can possibly set up private whitelisted servers but we just don't have the room right now.

I think this is a good solution. If enough people donate, and I feel like a lot of people will, they will be able to purchase many more servers in order to accommodate both donators and free players alike.

You could also have a donor only server that will kick players when donors join. And then only apply that to the donor servers. They will likely be used often enough when the other servers are full so the 'lonely donors' problem won't be there.

I just have a feeling that there will be plenty of donators, I'm considering donating and I haven't even managed to log onto a server yet!
