What armour actually does

Just thought I'd put this out there for everyone who doesn't know.
Each armour heart negates eight percent of the weapon that is used.
An example being full leather armour (minus the boots, as they aren't found in chests).
It gives you 3.5 armour hearts, therefore 28 percent (a half a heart being four percent).
If a stone sword (which usually does 2.5 hearts of damage) hits you, it'll only do two, as a quarter damage is being negated.

So yeah..
