We were all noobs once weren't we?
Our Minecraft servers are offline but we will keep this forum online for any community communication. Site permissions for posting could change at a later date but will remain online.
LOL not only are you sad enough to keep coming back and commenting but you go check my profile.I know right, this guy joined the forums yesterday, and he is already saying the community is spoon fed, what?
This is a suggestion thread, on a forum. Please come up with valid, mature arguments instead of simply dissing people. Thanks.LOL not only are you sad enough to keep coming back and commenting but you go check my profile.
I didn't say the community I said there's no need to do it to new players, read the damn thing before smashing your face into the keyboard.
This is the kind of stuff that a lot of people don't know, this other guys is just being a jerk. I like your ideas and thanks for your inputThis is a suggestion thread, on a forum. Please come up with valid, mature arguments instead of simply dissing people. Thanks.
I think that when you do /help, you get a book. And you also automatically get it the first time you join. That sounds fair, right? And if you don't want it, you could just throw it away, like our friend Trackie would most supposedly do. I am not sure if this is too hard to code in, but if it isn't then it should be added. It would also explain commands like /bounty, /spec, /records, /top etc. I didn't know of the /spec thing before recently.
Personally I think it's a good idea. When I started out I was also clueless. I didn't know a thing about the plugin at first, how to look up records, how to vote etc. but I agree with you, and I think that something like this would help a lot of people. I've seen the same kind of thing on other servers, and it's really helped me out.Hey guys just a quick suggestion that I wanted to throw out there. This wont be very helpful to most of you on the forums but i believe it will greatly benefit the newer players. I think that when you join a game you should be able to do a command that will help the new players learn the game a little bit better. For example if they type /help, it could give them a book to read that explains the basics of The Survival Games. Now I don't mean a lengthy book that tells them everything, just some basic stuff that is important but they might not know. Such as what tier 2 chest are, how does the point and bounty system work, how to check the info of the server, and how to check peoples records. These are just a few of the things that could be added to make the newer players learn the games quicker and have more fun playing. Please leave your opinions on this and vote.
Thanks guys-

Itwould be a nice replacementfor the /help command... the curent one is a respone: "something about faries being pissed...faries don't even drink..."For example if they type /help, it could give them a book to read that explains the basics of The Survival Games.
Thats the kind of stuff i wanted to add. It would also have a link to the forums for those of them who dont know about them yetIt sounds good but I don't want everything given to the noobs. It may sound mean but I think noobs should only get bare bones basic tutorial ie: Chest types, Places of intrest, PVP, stuff like that. If they needed in depth help they could always come to the forums *wink*.
Perhaps we could go further. A server dedicated to noobs and helping them when they first start the game. Each person would be equals and not horribly screwed by the one guy with 200+ wins. Of course these wins on the noobs serve would not go to the main leader boards but a I feel a training server like this would help many people.Thats the kind of stuff i wanted to add. It would also have a link to the forums for those of them who dont know about them yet
Not a bad idea but still wouldnt help them learn about some stuff. Also that would mean taking a server from the regular games, which i doubt will happen. But i like the idea in theory.Perhaps we could go further. A server dedicated to noobs and helping them when they first start the game. Each person would be equals and not horribly screwed by the one guy with 200+ wins. Of course these wins on the noobs serve would not go to the main leader boards but a I feel a training server like this would help many people.
It's playing against good players that actually makes you improve. I say no.Perhaps we could go further. A server dedicated to noobs and helping them when they first start the game. Each person would be equals and not horribly screwed by the one guy with 200+ wins. Of course these wins on the noobs serve would not go to the main leader boards but a I feel a training server like this would help many people.
