Well, this is something I cannot really explain but,

Imagine having to look at the website and waiting for a server to open so you can quickly join. I wasn't too involved with the community so I did not know the server specs at the time, but I am sure from what the owner ChadTheDJ said over the past few years, he is extremely proud to share a community with us.

The plugin was completely different, skill back then was something different. I never began using the fishing rod till Huahwi came around.

The community knew each other very well back then, it was a family, and staff had to be over 18 to join.

Correct me if I am wrong about the age part, but I am pretty sure you had to be 18 back then to become Mod.

Oh, and also, community manager.

"I think we should go back to the days you had to look at the server list and make people pay to see it" A quote from Jokoy Such a good idea!

I remember it being so easy to find Youtubers like MCFinest and BajanCanadian because there was literally like 10 servers for each region.

It was amazing ;-;

Amen.

Everyone back in 2012 was so chill and honestly the community was still so small at the time you basically knew everyone. The plugin and the way you played was different on such a standard that they could create an entirely new gamemode. The games were literally 'The Survival Games', you had mobs at night, wolves people could tame, no one had full iron... ever, not as many chests and of course you had the people against you. The games today are just 'who can get full iron first', which is essentially 'The PVP Games'.

Rant end.

I was never chill online...well its rare at least on minecraft. Anyway it was so much fun! People where so nice, always said gg, and way less hackers. Honestly I would rather there be only 500 members on daily if we had what there once was ;-;.

Edit: I also remember when I had respect for like almost the whole staff team.

2012 was a great year to start off. Everyone who joined the community, wasn't a randy. As Bree_ says about her own state, it was just so small and you knew everybody, and if you got into beef with any of them then there's no real way out of it. All the legendary names you hear nowadays, came and started building this server into a community. This involved many people such as Arena Master, HalfSquirrel, and even LeafyGreenTea! Now most of this was created around the forums, as there was no hub and barely anybody went on the teamspeak aside from moderators and such. (tbh I don't even know if there was a ts at the time)

Now aside from the community, the MCSG v1 Gameplay was amazing. It was made a little bit after the first Hunger Games move came out and I'm sure many people wanted to play it after hearing about it. Now if you were to play a game today, you would win by being the first to your route and having exceptional pvp skills. Back in MCSG v1, (and note I'm saying MCSG v1 not MCG v1) the games were all about strategy. This was where you should attack someone from, when the perfect timing was, etc. This made the gameplay a lot more fun and fluid, and it really worked your brain out.

When I started in June of 2012, there were only 2 maps on the servers. There was Survival Games 1 and Survival Games 2. Later on came Survival Games 3, Breeze Island, and Survival Games 4. Anyways, when we had these 2 maps, there was no voting stage. You would get what you get and wouldn't get upset. Additionally, once a game ended, you would have to go to the website to see which other servers were open to play, in progress, and down for maintenance since there was no hub.

Although back then it was more complex, it was a lot more fun. With a small community created around a game that took great strategy, you couldn't really ask for any better.

This is for anybody who hasn't ever heard/experienced the old times of MCSG. They were great days that cause me to continuously say everyday, "I really miss those days."

Some say to this day smash is still looking for the chill after he got: Error 404: Chill not found.

Lol but anyways I was saying if you want to make money just have 3 servers per region and to see when the next game is you have to pay 10 dollars per month :)

(I joking in all of this XD)
