Ban disputes.

I don't know if this is the right place for this, if it's not, can a mod move it. OK, well lets get started. I was banned about 6 and a half months ago for "Admitting to hacking (First offense)" even though it was jokingly. I read the rules and realized that I broke them, I was fine with it, but now, I want to apply for staff, I think I'd have a good shot, but I can't because I have to wait 1 whole year, when I've only waited just over half a year. So I posted a ban dispute a couple of weeks ago so I can clean my record, it got denied. So I contacted the person who denied it. I was all like, I know I messed up, I just want to apply for mod to help out as much as I can is there anything you can do, the person said I'm sorry, you can't do that, you'd need to wait the 6 months more. So I wanted to ask the staff to make it that ban disputes aren't only for people who where falsely banned, they should also be for people who are very apologetic, acknowledge what they've done wrong and won't do it again. A question I feel like with pop a lot is "What if it's all an act and they are lying when the apologize or what not", I think the staff will be able to tell lies from truth. I think the best thing you can do is wait that 5 and an half months, trying to getting known by the community using the forums, and after that, apply.
I have the same feelings as you, I got banned in December for insults, but my dream was to become moderator and help the community, so I started to use the forums and doing the possible for getting known by the community and improve myself in the english language.

I do regret to inform you that to my knowledge there is no way to bypass the one year wait to become a moderator. I was in a similar place than you a couple of months ago. I do believe they are going to implement a forgiveness policy, but as far as I am aware it will be only for hacking bans (the real hacking, not admitting). That is because, since hacking is a permanent ban, we want to assure that those who are truly sorry for what they've done can actually play again; however, I believe they'd still have to wait the year since they did actually break the rules. Even if they had a forgiveness policy for your case, you'd still have to wait it out. Don't worry, though, waiting a few months is definitely worth it. Being a moderator is awesome.

As stated before, it is likely you will have to wait those five and a half months before applying, however take this waiting period as an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the community and the members of the forums, it will make your stay leading uo to your application much more valuable. It is much better to moderate a community you are familiar and comfortable with c:

Well, we no longer offer age exceptions for a variety of reasons, and we used to not accept people with previous bans at all, so at least be glad you can apply in 6 months
