Depends what kind of person you are.
Hardcore gamer = Windows is a must
Graphical, photography, business = Mac
Want to see what it would be like using a Mac or want to do server hosting (not just minecraft, but also website hosting, email, etc) = Use Linux
(If you want to be an IT man, you have to know how to use Windows and Linux )

Also, a Mac runs really well and can't get viruses or pop-ups(Hot Asian singles in my area waiting to meet me?!)
You also get a lot more smoother controls and graphics. You won't get constant Navi messages about updating and if you dont update then you get it for you(really annoying on Windows that doesn't happen on Mac.) So, like I said I would just bulk up your Mac for gaming.

Bulking up a Mac would make it alot more expensive. Why not just torrent educational/working programs on widows?

Windows = Gaming/Browsing the internetz/Education/Work if you just get some nice stuff working on it. c:

I prefer my mac because it's so simple and I've made good controls for MC on it. It rarely lags and the look of it is nice, and I can press down the controls quicker

My parents do have a windows computer, but surprisingly, it actually sucks for gaming. It always crashes and it's brand new with heaps of memory :/

And getting inside a mac and swapping computer parts voids their warranty.
