His comment did not contribute to the thread and was intended to invoke a negative reaction. Essentially, it was non-constructive criticism. Also, please don't be disrespectful towards other members. In the future, it could lead to more than a simple 'post removal'.
Thanks croe97. This thread is not about arguing, it's about catching hackers. Lets get down to business :)

Well then allow me to contribute.

This idea that he has about going undercover and infiltrating their 'gangs' has so many issues. One issue is being that this is not the real world. A way many cops infiltrate groups or gangs is by pretending to take on the action performed by the members in the group or doing as they do. You can't get into a hacker's gang because they generally are alone, or if they are in a Skype call or TeamSpeak it is highly unlikely they will just invite you, an outsider, who can foil their ways of hacking. You can't see a hacker in a game and say "Hey, I'm a hacker too. Got Skype?" I mean seriously..

A second issue with this is the risk factor. If those hackers do invite you to their Skype call or TeamSpeak they can nab your IP, and you know how the rest follows. You also say they will have no idea it's you doing this, but I mean, you just posted a thread saying it will be you doing this, and no one else.

You are getting mixed up. I'm not going to be hacking, I'm going to befriend the hacker and gain his trust by playing with him. Then discreetly ask him if he has or currently does use any form of hacker client. Over time all will be revealed.

He's just saying it won't be easy to befriend the hacker. Plus, you made it out like you were going to infiltrate the clans and such. Finding a hacker on a server is as simple as reporting him as opposed to befriending him and such. Videos make it easier and more efficient.

Now you are mixed up. You didn't even take my entire post into consideration for that response. A hacker will not just play with you in games, especially after they know you discovered they do hack. They will most likely ignore you and continue going on their rampage. Instead of working months to gain the trust of some you already know hacks, just record and report them the moment you see it. Don't spend months playing with them and becoming buddies when you can end their hacking right from the moment you see them.

What i'm going to be doing will be more effective than simply reporting them, but I can't say any more.

I think you would catch more hackers just by playing games and reporting random hackers. The time you would take out to build up trust with hackers would be a long and painful process. You could spend that time reporting them in game and you would probably get a better result. It just doesn't seem very practical.

You could spend hours getting one hacker by trying to gain his/her trust and get the person to admit they are hacking. A hacker won't just admit they hack to some random person.
It doesn't seem efficient at all. I wouldn't imagine you could get 20-25 hackers by gaining their trust.
Feel free to do it. Im curious what the outcome would be.

I strongly doubt that you can come up with a more effective way then reporting them. Actually read our posts next time, and give an actual response.

Hello and welcome back to another one of my threads... Today I'm going to be pitching my idea to you all. Unlike my other 'Idea threads', I see this as one that actually has potential. After reading this thread, if anyone has any questions or would like to aid me in my quest then please don't by shy to shoot me a quick PM. You can do so by clicking here.

As i'm sure you are aware, in the real world when the police or Special forces wish to catch a bad group of people, the infiltrate their "gang" from the inside. Yes, I'm talking about going undercover. Have you ever wondered how many hackers we would catch if we infiltrated their 'gang'? Obviously the process would not be quick, you can't just ban one hacker and then move to the next, because then they would become cautious.

This would be a long process that would possibly take up months of your life. But when you have finished, you will have long lists of people who have admitted to hacking, and proof to justify your statements. This could work. I am personally going to attempt this on an account that all staff members will be made aware of.

Just to be clear, I am not going to be using these hacks, that would be a violation of the rules. All I will be doing is catching extra hackers. I will personally set myself a goal to catch at least 20-25 hackers a week. Once I begin this process, I believe it will be possible.

And don't worry, I am still going to remain on my account 'Vanth' just as much as I currently am. I have many more plans on this subject, but unfortunately I cannot reveal it all here due to obvious reasons.

Good luck and happy hunting!
