"back to a previous version means we aren't getting to experience the game as Mojang would want us to." Well, Mojang also wanted us to go to 1.7 when it came out, so why can't we revert back into our most RECENT update of Minecraft? Well, we can. They never said, "We want you to ONLY move foward, never look back." Now did they? No.
"It's been consistent that people complain right after they update to a new version. They just don't like change." Why can't we complain? Well, we can. We like the version 1.7 more. That's why we complain... "Myself and a few others were working on a map that we hoped would do well, but with the announcement of MCG revering to 1.7, it meant that we had to postpone the project for probably a very long time or maybe just ditch it for good." They never fully moved back to 1.7, they made it to 1.7, and 1.8, So you can continue on your project, You can just also change out the 1.8 blocks for the 1.7 version of MCSG.
"A big portion of the map contained sea blocks, and we wouldn't be able to reproduce it utilizing older blocks. This would also apply to any other maps that contain 1.8 material in them." There are maps with 1.8 blocks, when people go on them on 1.7, they are reverted to the closet block to the 1.8 block version.
"Apparently 1.7 is supposed to support a better PvP experience, but since I rarely ever play MCSG anymore, I don't have the opportunity to reap the benefits like most others are." If you "rarely ever play MCSG" why should this affect you? Also, 1.7 DOES support better pvp "experience".
I would also like to say a qoute from Bonnie Blair, "It's sad to know I'm done. But looking back, I've got a lot of great memories." That is saying that we miss the past, and we want it back. (THIS SUPPORTS MY CLAIM)
Now lets look at a quote to support you,"Looking back isn't going to help you. Moving forward is the thing you have to do." -McKayla Maroney. This is saying that we SHOULD move into the future and leave the past behind. Unlike me, we learned new things in the past that we should not forget, like I want to live during the battle of Thermopylae, but I can't. I want to live in the past, but I can't. That doesn't mean I can't use and try things from the past. Does it? No.
