1.9 Change

As most of you know and may not like. The MCGamer changed from 1.7 and 1.8 versions of Minecraft, and made this server exclusively 1.8 due mostly to Bungee Cord. Although, 1.7 was loved, it's difficult to mix versions on a large server such as this one as many of the staff probably know. My question is with the new "Combat Update" coming out will MCGamer make the change to only 1.9, or will the both the versions be aloud or even perhaps still 1.9 primarily? I'd like to see answers as well as opinions on this matter. 1.9 changes a good portion of PvP including Shields and Quivers. Will these new mechanics be implemented. or will the experience be untouched by the new update?

This will be like every single Minecraft version update ever. The first 1-2 months you can use both and then after that they will only allow 1.9. This has always been the case (except from 1.7 to 1.8, I think you could use both versions for 3-4 months).

The thing is, will there be shields/quivers be implemented then? When they are, there it needs to be 1.8 OR 1.9, that's something we can only know when the update is there.

I'll like that 1.9 and 1.8 both are available and try to no make more changes just the more liked ones and the ones that see to be more eficient

I think that the 1.9 update would be totally different than 1.8. At least we know for a fact that there's no block hitting anymore in 1.9.

Honestly, I don't know, we will probably have only 1.9 but I'm not too sure about shields/quivers and etc. My guess is that we will hold a community poll to see if people would like those items to be added or not.

My opinion is that we should try out 1.9 and don't add the shields or quivers. While those items do see cool, I believe that many players would just love to keep items in PvP the same.

I bet that if there ever is change, there will be a huge amount of unhappy players as some people just can't handle change.

The problem is , if you mix the two versions, there will be teams walking around in testudo formation and then there will be teams running around block hitting.

I hope we change, PvP is easy and bland as it is. We need more aspects to it.

1.9 will be bringing more radical changes to the table, hence the fact that it will most likely not be compatible between multiple versions and I'd expect to see us making a full conversion to 1.9 as soon as we can.

mcsg pvp is a joke, kohi pvp on the other hand has a way higher learning curve.

bunnies are you serious? Why do you want mechanics like Dual Wielding in pvp?
