It has been a long time since I have played Minecraft and I haven't had a computer in 4/5 weeks. The first thing I did when I had the chance to go onto a computer was checking my ping on the EU servers of MCG xD
My ping changed from 22ms to 8ms, and that is wireless, with cable connections yet to come. (internet provider changed as well)

Now my question is, is internet in the Netherlands so good? Because I have friends who play/played minecraft too, and their ping on the EU servers were about the same as the ping I used to get, while the EU servers are hosted in France (I think). And people from Belgium I played with didn't have ping lower than 40ms.

De EU servers worden inderdaad gehost in Frankrijk. Het is niet zo dat je overal in Nederland goede verbinding hebt. Daarintegen is het wel zo dat onze providers vaak goede verbinding bieden. Volgens mij hangt het ook af van waar je woont, maar daar weet ik eigenlijk niet zo veel vanaf.

Nee hoor Dat is Ziggo. Zeer onklantvriendelijk maar over het algemeen wel goede verbinding.

Your ping may be good due to location purely, although your download and upload speeds may not be so great. I know Australia has awful down and up speeds, well, at least my Aussie friends do.

But if your ping to MCG is good, that's all that matters, right?

He basically says that the EU servers are hosted in France, that a almost everyone from the Netherlands gets good ping and that your ping depends on where you live.
