Rant Alert

In my opinion, technology is ruining our generation. People spend more time a day on their phones then they do talking with their parents, or doing something active. It makes me mad when my friends complain about how their parents "got mad" at them for using their phones during their "family time." Personally, I try and only use my phone when it's needed, or when I'm alone. If there is anyone around me then I avoid it, and try to socialize (Even though I usually fail at being social). And, did you know our generation is the FIRST generation, Not expected to outlive our parents? This means, that if your dad lives to be, let's say 76. You're predicted to die before you turn 76. This probably has nothing to do with the technology part, but I'm sure it has something to do with the laziness of our generation.

Rant over.

I'd like to see a peer reviewed paper discussing this issue.
This generation will far outlive any previous one.

I don't even have a phone and I'm pretty bad with going out and being active and stuff.

Honestly, I think technology is a brilliant and well-thought thing to an extent. It adds many American jobs (though taking some in the process), it makes things faster, and it makes things easier and simpler than ever in the past. The reason it is to an extent, though, is because some technologies take jobs, some technologies kill people, and overall our makings could be the end of humanity itself. For example, if work on the biology printer continues, someone may be able to print off a disease or chemical that kills everyone in it's path.
