I can assure you that the friend rank will not be returning, at all unfortunately.

However, the rank is currently being repurposed to a Map Maker rank! So anyone who has made a map / hub for the MCGamer Network, and was rewarded with VIP, can expect to have a Pink rank soon.

I like my classic purple because it matches my skin, but Pink is pretty cool too!

Friend rank, as we all know, was used for the wrong purpose. It was removed entirely and from what I heard platnium rank replaced it (although this screenshot proves otherwise)

However, the pink rank might come soon for map builders, as what neph said.
