"Gonna put a shrimp on the barbie"
This is the last thing that a typical australian would say... People that aren't from our country made this frase for us. Like when an Aussie asks an American to put on an Australian accent and they say this, puke runs up my throat.

Righto, this is a tricky one. The way people other than Australians say it, is wrong. This doesn't pop up in our eryday lives. This is something we use to show people were Aussie, or sometimes... sometimes say hey to people. Dont get me wrong, we use this, but not how you think we do.

[This is not a racist thread, this just points out what I see from being Aussie.]

I have never heard anyone say "Gonna put a shrimp on the barbie" anywhere before lol. Think I've said it like twice from memory, only on teamspeak when requested.

I also started saying "G'day mate" more frequently on teamspeak since everyone thinks the Australian accent is the same as the English accent...
