Hello everyone! My name is Kawhi and today I'm going to explain why no one likes MCSG.

    • TOO MANY TEAMS (Also, too big of teams)
So, every game I go in I see at least one triple team and 2 double teams. No matter what, it's bound to happen. Teaming servers should be seperated from Solo servers. So if someone wants to play the game by him/herself he/she doesn't have to fight 1,000,000 humongous teams. The team servers should also be split up into To2, To3, To4 servers no larger than that because a 5v5 is just bananas.

    • The Hacker Issue
Recently, I have played other servers (Not Naming Any) on which I have found little to no hackers. Also, when I would encounter a hacker, he would automatically get kicked/banned most of the time. Why isn't this the case with MCSG? There are hackers who fly all over the place. MCSG is just a really busy airport to be fair. So,, I think the anti-cheat should be rethought because it kicks and "rubber-bands" more legit players, than it does hackers.

    • 1.7 vs. 1.8
No matter how much the dev's and staff like 1.8, no players do. The only reason 1.8 was implemented was:

    • For mini-games which no one plays or likes.
    • For features like 1st Person spec-ing which we could've all lived without (Also, it shows everyone a 0-bar, a really nice 1.8 feature which we all love)
1.8 broke all our beloved resource packs and more, so why not let us use 1.7? Everyone was happy when you could come on the server using whatever client you wanted to.

    • /join SG (Used to Random-Join, not to join a specific server)
There should be another part to the command where you specify whether you want to join a 24-man server, a 48-player one, or a 120-slot one. For example, something like this: /join SG 24/48/120. All of us have found that /join SG always puts us in another arena then we want it to. So why not let us specify what type of server we want to play.

    • Raffle Voting
We all know the moments when a map has 30 votes, another has 1 or 2 and the one with a 2% chance of winning wins and everyone /hubs. When a map reaches let's say a 95% chance, it should automatically get picked. That way, raffle voting doesn't get removed, but the annoying side of it is fixed.

So these are my suggestion. If you have any, reply to this thread and I'll add them if I feel they are worth while. Also, vote on the poll above, you may choose multiple responses. I don't expect these updates to be on the server tomorrow, but over time I think they would bring a lot of players to the server and stop players from quitting.

Thanks,
~Matt

I agree with everything, but they will never make dedicated servers for To2, To3, etc. They never listen to the community so there's no point of posting such a thread xD Anyways good try :p

It's early in the morning and I'm in a bad mood, so I'll try to control by temper in this post, but you simply don't understand how annoying it is to see someone post a thread like this after about 100,000 other people have complained about the same old things that we've addressed.

Why is everyone complaining about teaming? You can say I'm just "biased because I'm a mod" because that's everyone's excuse for getting called out nowadays (which is immature and ridiculous) but take this from someone who has been playing MCSG competitively for the last week, and I've been playing a lot. I've played about 50-60 games over these last few days. I haven't encountered a team larger than three. AT ALL. And the other teams I ran into were easy to take out using strategy, and I'm not even that good of a player anymore. You just have to use skill. Stop blaming MCSG for problems that you yourself can't solve.

Okay, you're just outright wrong on everything you just said. I know many players who enjoy 1.8 over 1.7, yes some features are annoying and it sucks that blockhitting was removed, but other than that there really isn't much of a difference. Why was 1.8 added? Hmm, maybe so that we could finish and push out the Leaderboard Update that people had been nagging us to complete ever since we promised it. We ran into some unexpected problems, and had to update to one version of Minecraft only to complete this. Plus, what are all these other dual compatibility servers going to do when 1.9 comes out? 1.9 is supposed to make PvP improvements, as promised by Mojang. Are those servers just going to stay 1.7? I don't think so. They can have fun letting all their players down with crazy downtimes and problems that we've already fixed. 1.8 is the newest version of Minecraft, be glad that we could even do dual compatibility for a while, because back in the 1.6 and below times, everything was on one version and one version only.

Okay, I actually can't complain. The Join SG command can be a bit annoying when it puts you into a 120 man server. This'll be brought up to the devs at the next staff meeting, thanks for the input :)

    • Raffle Voting

Raffle Voting was a toss-up. When it was added, there were a lot of people that didn't like it, but a lot that did. I ended up eventually getting used to it because it let me enjoy some older maps that I hadn't been able to play steadily in over a year. Raffle Voting also kind of nerfs the voting power that donors paid to have. When we removed it, there weren't really any problems so re-adding it didn't really make any sense to me personally, but there were a lot of requests for it to be added back. For me, I don't have a problem playing unexpected maps, when a bunch of people leave just because it isn't SG4, Highway, or Valley it means that players who actually know how to adapt to their environments can formulate a route and win. :p

I came out as very angry in the beginning of this post, because it truly is annoying to see people making these threads, complaining about the very same issues that someone before them just did. We've had multiple discussions about this, especially the solo and team queue servers, and they simply wouldn't work. I want to play Survival Games, that's why I'm here, I and many other players didn't come here to play some minigame where you're queued up with exact teams, and know exactly what to expect from the game. Teams are a part of the game, and they make it more challenging, they also build your skill if you learn to take them out.

Thread locked. Feel free to PM me with any further questions, but there have simply been too many of these lately.

The problem is, there's nothing they/we can do against teaming as no teaming allowed may result in no clan competition or just no fun at all, especially for the ones like me who now find theirselves playing just for fun with friends.
Also, I'm with you about the raffle voting system as now if you leave the game will count, and you may generally leave when you find yourself on a map you don't know at all.
