I've been much less active in mcsg and Minecraft in general but I was recently browsing the forums when I say Giggity's post regarding an issue very close to home:

http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/your-parents.173408/
(sorry, idk why link doesn't work, im on mobile)

In case you haven't read it, the post regarded us as children disrespecting our parents and making them feel bad. Sometimes we forget that parents are people too, with more in life than just us as children.

This game is not very fun for me and I will most likely be quitting soon but as being apart of this community for over 2.5 years, its been great to see it grow. We must realize that aside from exceptions like Chad and devs and certain others, we are pretty much a community of 12-18 y/olds that have built everything we are as a group.

Although this is a forum for mcsg, we are all still real people united by a passion for this game. We together have faced many events that maybe weren't right to discuss with irl friends that just wouldn't get it. We have built this server and game and enjoyed it together as a group.

This community is more than just a bunch of pvpers: we are all human. This also goes to trolls on the MCGamer ts because I jab personally seen how annoying they can be: is it really necessary to ruin a mod's day by being an awful person? Same goes to rude ones as apart of the clan community, another scene I have seen in my day: although I am guilty of this, name calling and being jerks to other clans is completely irrelevant. We are human more than we are "pvpers". Just remember that be for you do something rash.

Sorry for this rant, just got a bit emotional and thoughtful. Thanks to Giggity69Goo for post in such a beautiful article <3 really broadened my outlook

Well in today's world being "cool" or "popular" or whatever is associated with trolling, crude humor, malicious actions such as DDoSing, etc. None of this was ever appealing to me, so I don't know what's so cool or fun about being a jerk, meh.

It's funny how people blame the staff for being "corrupt" when they got banned. I went in a TS channel once, banned like three people for using a soundboard and was called corrupt. Okay.. So, let's get this straight. You're being rude and ruining it for others, so I got rid of you now I'm the one at fault. Can't argue with that, your logic is pretty solid!1!1!1!!!!1!!!!1!

Although there are people like that, there are also the gems of the world, the friends that stand by you and have a good time together. That kind of cancels out the trolls although at times it is hard to overlook bad people, especially when they think they are correct.

In Greece and mostly Eastern Europe, things aren't this complicated, like seriously. If you swear at your parents or yell at them, people just straight up think you're an uncultured kid, not cool. I really don't know how other people just make this so complicated and make their relationship with their parents so hard. They're the ones who decided to bring you to this world and raised you. Don't a d-bag to them. Like really, if you hate your parents go off and make your own house, buy your own things and don't count on your parents, as you sound pretty superior like that.
TL;DR: If you yell and swear at your parents, you're a d-bag, not cool.

As some on who used to live in that area, I know what you mean. Respect for your elders is so important in countries of that area. If someone is older than you, they are more respected almost by default. This is very different here in America.

Ζητω η ελλαδα!

Now onto this thread. I really appreciate this whole thread being dedicated to what I was saying back in my "Your Parents" thread. I definitely agree this community is brought together more than just a block game. Thank you :)

I agree wholeheartedly with your statements!

I have been here for just under two years, and staff for one year, and I have seen the community evolve and develop and change completely. However, every once in a while I see an old friend, someone I used to talk to, and to catch up is the greatest feeling one can have.

Through MCGamer, I have met some of my best friends, had some of the best experiences. I have expanded my knowledge, maturity, and leadership in many ways, and it's all because of the people that I have met. The staff team has honestly proven to be the source of most of my development as a person (as well as general growing up). That's another thing to bring up about this community. How well it can work together, come together, and act as a family.

The staff do deal with a lot of stressful, and certainly irritating, situations, but we are always here for each other. We volunteer to do this, though, and we thoroughly enjoy what we do (at least I do) and the people that we meet.

Thank you for recognizing how we are all human, and that everything comes together to make a strong community.
