Hello everyone, I am here to bring you a thread that is simply for discussion. It is addressing an issue I have been noticing around the forums recently, and the odd previous battles. The question I am posing to you is When do the forums get too competitive?

Now this varies from post battles, forum battles and even like battles. Recently I have noticed users around the forums trying to 'beat' someone to a certain post count- whether that be 1,000 posts or 100 posts. It serves no real purpose and is simply pointless, people post at the rate that they want to, do not try and make the forums somewhere to have races rather than posting opinions and creating discussions. Everyone is unique, and if you are one of those people that attempt to get to a post count before the other user does, you are ruining your experience on the forums. I'm not trying to steer anyone away or change how people post, I'd just like to address it as an issue.

Now something else I have noticed is people worrying about their following count. Sure, it may define how popular someone is but inevitably it means nothing. One of my fellow forum users has tried to do some sort of experiment in which he unfollowed everyone he was following and observed how they react. Surprisingly a small portion of people did react.

I can't stress enough that your like count, post count or follower count does not define you as a forumer. You do not need to achieve something a forum goal to be 'known'. There are a lot of great forumers that I have noticed recently, and I hope you guys persist at what you are doing and you will do very well. :)

Anyway, I just thought I'd pose this question to you and I am hoping to see a variety of opinions in the replies, this is not attacking anyone directly, I might add.

Who even cares about who follows them. I don't even know if anyone follows me. Who cares. I follow people that interest me.

I think the forums get too competitive during the MCG Awards.
People compete so much to try and win a banner/title.

You don't need awards and recognition to know you're doing a good job, people need to learn that.
Couldn't have said it better. The extents some people are willing to go to win is shocking.

The only time I will be offended by a follow matter is if I follow a friend of mine and they don't follow back :c

I mean, from my perspective it's commin courtesy and a sign of friendship to follow each other back, and not doing so purposefully just kinda makes me feel like they don't care. Idk

Unfortunately for me, there are a couple of people who I am friends with who I forgot to follow back originally and I felt bad, sorry guize ;-;
