Hello everyone! You all know me as Froggytv, Trey, or that one mod guy who tells us to stop spamming. Today and tomorrow, because my interview went through the night, January 20th - 21st, 2015, is the mark of my 6th month as an MCGamer Staff member. To be honest, I didn't even think I'd made it this far. I'll go into detail later in the post, but for now, read on!

When the school year of 2012 was coming to a close, I heard my friend Chris, or CEK_Kroeger, talking about a game called Minecraft, which he had been playing for a few weeks at that time. I asked him what it was about, and he said you could basically build anything you wanted, and I thought it sounded pretty cool. That summer, I tried to convince my dad to buy the game for me to no avail, due to him being afraid that Mojang would steal his credit card info and charge him for bogus things. I assured him that this wasn't the case, showed him reviews of the game and the company, and he finally let me make the purchase. I didn't know this at the time, but that purchase was probably one of the most influential in my entire life up to now.

Before buying it, you could play survival mode without even having an account. I had been doing that for around 2 months prior just to get a feel for the game, without even knowing about these, "server", things. The next thing I know, I'm being introduced to servers such as Lavacraft, Archer Games, and MCSG. Even though I didn't have much practice, I still had a natural talent for PVP, so my favorite type of games on Minecraft were PVP based games, such as MCSG. This led to a bunch of different fun experiences with my friends, including something that me and a few friends started up in my middle school. Minecraft Club.

This Minecraft Club ran 2 days a week after school for an hour, and was where I learned almost everything I know about Minecraft today, excluding minor things. This is where I played my first hunger games, by hosting a server on my home computer, going back to school, having everybody connect to the IP, and playing an HG getting everybody situated in their proper spots. That was a huge hassle I never had to feel again after me and Chris discovered MCSG, which you could only access through a server list on the browser. If you are an old-timer, you know what I'm talking about. If you didn't have donor, which I'm assuming not many people did at the time, considering it had just come out, you had to be within the second the server opened to join a game. Most of the open servers were also EU, so being a US player, the ping advantage was not on my side when I was connecting. Sometimes, it took 20 minutes to connect to a game with all of our friends in it, but it was still more efficient than opening up my own server and doing it that way. This opened up a new style of game to play within Minecraft, and really intensified my love for it that much more.

It wasn't until around early 2013 that I actually took about a year long hiatus from MCSG, and Minecraft as a whole, because it was really starting to bore me, and I didn't want to leave the game I had so much fun with over the years. So, I took about a 6 month hiatus from Minecraft, and a 1 1/2 year hiatus from MCSG, and only came back once I was offered the chance to. (More on that last part later.)

When I came back from Minecraft, I mostly played on the Hypixel network, and did a bunch of maps with a bunch of my friends, and mainly stayed away from most PVP type minigames. That is until around March of 2014, where the AntVenom Network officially opened its doors. I had become one of AntVenom's friends a little while earlier, when I became a twitch mod for him, and I helped him out in that way. Soon after that, I got the opportunity to become a Guardian, which is basically a helper, on the AntVenom Network. The one thing I really liked about that server was how much the community connected and bonded with each other. It was very tight knit, and we basically all knew each other and were very nice for the most part. Technically I wasn't the leader there, but I was definitely one of the most respected staff members on there, which hopefully was shown to Ava and Dave when they came over to the AntVenom Network TeamSpeak to discuss the merge between AVSN and MCGamer.

I had just gotten home from a week long vacation at the time, so I had no idea what was going on and saw all of these foreign people invading our small TeamSpeak. I found out Dave and Devin were the men in charge, so I asked to speak to them. They gave it all to me loud and clear, and told me I could apply over at MCGamer to retain my mod position after the merge had happened. I thought this was a great idea, eager to gain experience, so I said why not. This is where the insane part happens. I wrote my application, submitted it, got to interview, got waiting, got interviewed, and got Moderator, all in about 5 hours. That's very close to a record I believe. Then, I didn't know at the time, but my life was basically changed from that point on.

I'm not going to detail my entire MCGamer Staff experience here, because that would be way too long. Rather, I'm going to mention the people I've met along the way, starting with the people I've met at MCGamer, and ending with some people from the AntVenom Network.

These people are in no particular order, and are coming right out of my head. Enjoy!

Spectral_Slayer: Riley, you are, and still remain one of my best online friends I've ever had to date. You're funny, sympathetic, and all around a really awesome guy. Keep doing what you're doing, and we'll be talking for a long time to come. :)

Moose: Still a very good friend of mine, and is always a person who is serious, but hilarious at the same time. I don't know how he can pull it off, but he does, and it's awesome. Keep up the good work dude. :D

Dave: The first person I spoke to about MCGamer. You're an awesome guy, no matter what anybody says. You always know how to cheer me up, make me feel apart of everything we do together, and you are all around one of the most genuine people I've ever met. :)

LadyOfLove: Hmm, my interviewer, and another one of the invaders on the AVSN TeamSpeak! xD You are so sympathetic to everyone you meet, and you are one person who I can go to if I'm having a bad day and you can make it better in an instant. You're also an amazing Sr. Mod, and I hope you go a long ways. :)

Jodimo: Joey, you're awesome. The most genuine, caring, and awesome guy I've ever met. Really can't put it into words how much you've helped me in my trip here. Thanks for everything man. :)

KitMencha: Our late night, (well, for me at least.), Cards Against Humanity games are probably the best thing I do here for fun, and it's amazing how I've seen you go from a Trial Sr. Mod, to basically a veteran in the time I've been here. You're going places dude, keep up the good work. :D

Bowser52000: Your laugh is hilarious, and we talk about computers like there's no tomorrow. We have a ton in common with our tech interests, and you're always someone I feel like I can talk to easily and comfortably. You're awesome Benny. :D

xStatiq: My first mod friend. Even though you aren't a mod anymore, you still are an amazing person who I had so much in common with, we could talk about anything, and it was just a different chat when you joined, (in a good way! :p). Thanks for being there for me man, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do in the future.

soggypickle: #Chezra! In all seriousness, even though you've been a mod for longer than I have, I still feel like we've each taught eachother different things, and it's been awesome to be around you. I hope we can continue to be friends for long into the future. :)

If I missed anybody from MCGamer, I am sorry, but I am running on 4 1/2 hours of sleep and I can't really think. :p

Now, going on to the AntVenom Network people:

Zarx238, MrCrispyPotato, and other Team Beacon Members: You are are like my family, you've kept me up when I've been down, made me laugh when I've been sad, and helped me continue my goals until I've exceeded them. You guys are awesome, and one of the best groups of people I've ever seen. <3

Mayga: You were in the "Hero Club", over on AVSN when it started, and I could never beat you at Deadly Descent. You sir are the best PVP'er, and a really cool guy. :)

AntVenom: You gave me this whole opportunity, and I can't thank you enough for that. Without you, none of my journey through MCGamer and AVSN would have happened. I thank you so much for that.

Here are a couple of AntVenom Network videos, showing 2 pranks we did to AntVenom on his birthday, and on April Fools Day. :)

This video was made by Datoxicoss.

Thanks everybody for reading, and I am now on my way to that 1 year anniversary. :D

YASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

Um, okay.. Anyway congrats froggy! You're one of the people I remember getting mod almost right after me that wasn't in the waiting room with me. To me you were the original "new mod" because you were basically the first one I'd seen hired since myself (yes I'm pretty sure I just repeated myself there). Plus our 6 months threads were written right after each other so congrats bacca :>

I remember when you first joined the staff team 6 months ago. It is nice to watch someone grow up within the staff team, observe their accomplishments and continue on with their journey in great success. Congratulations and here is to 6 more!
