Although we are all happy to have the opportunity to change out account names, what if someone abuses this power? Lets say I got someone else's name and everyone started to think that it was the original player?

thats the risk you run if you change your name and someone else takes it. You will still always be able to do /records on someone tho. So say someone takes my reven86 name after I change it, they can claim they are me, but /records or /stats will prove otherwise.

The thing with name changing is that even though there may be like 133375670 at the end it's still a username. You get known for it. Perfect usernames that have been changed from something else. I dunno, they're weird.
It's like if Gravey4rd changed to Graveyard.
