Do you think that the Flint and Steel can be used to make strafing difficult?
If so, please explain some tactics here.

Maybe players that are next to a wall fighting parallel to it could place a fire next to the opponent so that the wall and the fire are stopping the opponent from strafing easily. This is just one idea; share more!

i would put the fns a little more to the left or right depending on the situation. This may stop them for starting a strafe for going another way or they will just run right into the fire

That's basically just lighting/trying to light them on fire. It doesn't matter about the intentions.
Like you could say swing you sword to the left of them when they're strafing left to make them stop!11112
It's just hitting them/trying lol

The point is to make it harder for them to get you in a combo.

Getting them on fire is different from keeping them trapped.
But as your describing it, it will be the perfect place to place fns anyway, BECAUSE of strafing. 7/10 they will get caught in it. Your placing it in the same spot(s) and your giving the reasoning as to avoid them strafing. But inevitably they will most like light on fire. Understand?

Yes, but the strategy isn't pointless. If they are a decent player, you will be able to keep them from strafing too well. And even if you fail, they will be on fire. So using the tactic has two possible scenarios:

1) The opponent cannot strafe, so you can more easily kill them.
2) The opponent is on fire, so you can more easily kill them.
