Not all moderators are hired based on their forum activity. I know personally many moderators who simply don't use the forums all that often however are, in theory, better and more active mods than I am because they interact with Sr. Staff and are on TS constantly willing to help out. While I would personally set an experience limit, we haven't run into a problem with it yet, therefore there is no need for a restriction. If there is a mod that is not doing their job well enough, or is not qualified to be a mod at all, they either would have had their applications denied or were taken care of quickly.
You go zebruh
I'm not trying to flame this up, but honestly. Mods don't even do a thing in-game. Just recently I got on the Hub and, lord, the mods gave such mediocre replies, unprofessional; just really bad.
Mods don't give good concrete replies like they would used to back in my days. Not only that, but now you have to literally spam the heck of the mod in-chat to get a reply —else they give no fu..—.

Personally, it is bothersome that some mods only have 50 messages while other people try harder and are not even mods. Just shows how much interest one has.

I've thought of it, and there should be a limit of posts one needs to have to become moderator, similar to what Mineplex has.

Also, don't get me wrong, but I've seen threads with the same topic where the question has been answered —thus a mod would have the right to lock this thread up, just saying.
Mooclan the best canidate for mod. Forum god. Known for posting a lot and very helpful posts.

Okay lets take that into consideration. The mods that are not active do what? Say stop spamming that's it. You need evidence to ban a person and when they don't use the forums or have very limited knowledge. How do they know all sort of those things. It makes mcg look unprofessional.
ViolentKitten I am not SAYING that ALL mods don't do the work there are amazing moderators but some are not experienced with the forums
Why do we need more forum moderators anyway? Those who are forum inactive aren't holding up a place for a hopeful-to-be-moderator who is forum active, and we have an abundance of forum active moderators that get things done quickly.

May I also add, to the people suggesting ALL moderators do nothing, you are wrong. The amount of work that the staff team does is phenomenal, whether it is behind the scenes or in public eye. If this work didn't happen, and we didn't have moderators, the server would be very different
People judge what they see with their eyes.
Maybe you really want to protect and take care of MCSG, yet end up doing horrible things which don't really substantiate your actions.
To be fair, if you want to be taken serious, to not be taken as a slacker, and to not be taken as a monster, show how much of a hard-worker you are and substantiate with logical reasons.
I definitely have seen MCSG sugarcoat many events, and sugarcoat things by just perma-banning people.
Also I see moderators in-game giving mediocre replies, not even professional —probably didn't even care a bit of what the guy needed.

The more the merrier? It's not about: "we're fine, we don't need more". It's about showing interested and contributing some. Also, the forums are very important in this community and show the true intentions of someone.

Oh ''Why do we need forums moderators anyway'' We have report abuses to handle. We have alot of stuff. Mods need evidence don't they and evidence on the forums. If they are not active how can those things be done.

I'm not saying it looks professional, I'm just saying that they get the job done or else they wouldn't be here.
I remember when mods had principles and were faithful to their job. Now, mods take it lightly because it's just an internet game.
I wouldn't say that they take it lightly, it's just that a lot of our moderators are newer to the network than they were back then. In 2013, not many new players applied for mod, and nowadays a lot of new players do, which is why we are seeing more and more mods who haven't been around for that long. The staff team is much different that it was back then, if you see it as worse I can't simply change your opinion but just because our mods aren't as well known doesn't mean that they don't care as much. I am honestly pretty sad that friend rank was removed, I always wanted a pink name ;_;

All joking aside, it's worth a shot to give this newer staff team a chance.

From my point of view, reports abuse are a must for every member of staff; when they reply to a report abuse, it won't count to their messages. Thus, a moderator could be "active", but there's not evidence that will prove that.
Regardless, moderators often forget that people will always judge you. And because of that, you have to show a good image of yourself; almost like advertising yourself.

I can see your point, and I wholeheartedly agree with you. My viewpoint would be different to yours as I see how much work these guys actually do behind the scenes, however the forums are a massive part of the network and some moderators could contribute more than they do.

By the way, I wasn't implying that having more moderators is a bad thing - personally I'd love to see some more forum active mods join the team, but I wouldn't think that they are needed to get the work done faster, as in my opinion it is done fast enough - just to be moderators that contribute to every aspect of MCGamer
