"The Mods Don't Do Anything!" - Rant Session 1

Hello fellow MCGamers!

I'm here today to rant about something I see all the time in game.

As someone who truly does enjoy the company of the community, I still get annoyed by some of the community members. These people are always running around the hub, ranting that the Mods, or the Staff Team in general, don't do their jobs regarding hackers. Let me just say this, you're all hypocritical people. You have the audacity to go around and judge the staff team because they are not doing their job, but you are not taking initiative to help them out by either informing them of the hackers, either with /report, telling them in game, poking them on TeamSpeak, or recording them, but instead, you would rather yell at and blame the staff? I don't see how that is fair. It is up to you as community members to help the staff too and make it an enjoyable place for everyone to entertain themselves. Without a group effort to make a change, it's less likely that there will be a visible difference within the community.

I could not have said it better myself. In order to take care of any problems you have to bring them to our attention.
Here are a few ways you can do this:

• Poke/Message on TeamSpeak
• Using the /report command
• Telling them in game
• Message them in the forums, please do not write on our status telling us about hackers (it is too public)
• another creative ways you can think of

People need to realize that mods are people too. They get tired, but they still don't stop. They work really hard to make the servers fun for you guys, so instead of putting them down, praise them.

A lot of great things being said in this thread, but i'd like to add on to some things about members in the community and helping out.

This may not be the analogy of the year but imagine a company and you are at a store. You don't need to buy their product, but you support them by buying it, and even though you don't really realize it, you are helping people because you have made this company better.
This relates to MCGamer because by reporting hackers and rule breakers, you have now just helped make the server better and everyone happier. Again, not the best analogy but i think it got my point across well.

Quick Edit: I like that you were able to make a thread like this without offending any members of the staff or causing flame, props to you!

I do believe that Chris is correct, yet again, there are some moderators who don't pay enough attention to MCGamer, which is unfortunate and should change. But we shouldn't judge the whole staff team on one or two individuals who don't do their job correctly.

You assume that all people who are saying mods don't do their jobs are not reporting hackers at all. Just yesterday there was an insane hacker in a friends game, I poked four different moderators where only one replied which was Lively_ unfortunately the hacker actually died by the time Lively_ got in because he was the last option of the 4 I poked (not his/her fault).

At least have the decency to reply telling me you're busy or to ask someone else rather than completely ignoring my request.

Also I wanted to say as a member of the community, everyone has the right to complain whether they help or not, the sheer amount of hackers is ridiculous and it'd be stupid if no one complained.

I totally agree with you.

I am an AU Moderator, I spend majority of my time in the AU region, I get told a lot that I am not doing my job. People think that it is alright to dump everything on our plates and not help in any way, shape or form. It needs to be a group effort guys- we can't possibly be in every server/hub and be on 24/7.

To be fair, these kind of threads are getting as annoying as people actually complaining.

A good point, but seriously, these get old.
