Actually it is a lot, I myself have 27k points and 5% depending on how often will be a lot.-It will happen! ^
OT: Honestly, I never even thought about the top points leader board, (maybe because I thought I would never get on it). But this idea sounds great, it gives chances to other players to get on top. Really, 5% of you're points honestly isn't too much. If you can't get that back, how do you still have it? (inactivity)
That's true.. but I'm sure if it was implemented then it would be gradual. Not 5% each day, if it were to be based on inactivity, it could be a monthly loss, or even seasonal...depending on how often will be a lot.
You do make a point. SomeMugger would be kicked way off, even though he was good enough. The thing is though...he isn't playing anymore. Sure, he once held a really high spot, but sometimes, things are left for the history books. (Or, well, what I mean is that an example would be that somebody who was in a yearly event last year and won wouldn't be compared to this years competitors. He wouldn't win for doing nothing just because he did better last year than all of this years competitors - however he is still kept on record.)I think it's kind of a bad idea, it's like removing an Olympic gold medals from someone who did achieve them in the past but because they are inactive they aren't aloud to have them?
I was going to make suggestion to Chad which would probably help this idea, is to have an all time and a monthly leader board. This way you can see where you rank up for that month against active players. You do make a point. SomeMugger would be kicked way off, even though he was good enough. I guess what I'm saying is that it would be nice if there was a separate documentation for people like that, a separate way to figure out who was once great...we need not compare them to current competitors, but they shouldn't be forgotten either. I have no ideas right now, though. :/
So many people have suggested this XDI was going to make suggestion to Chad which would probably help this idea, is to have an all time and a monthly leader board. This way you can see where you rank up for that month against active players.
