Hello Tributes,

We are excited to see all of you taking a part of our new community update! The Developers have been very busy monitoring, fixing, and updating the servers today to ensure that many unintended issues that had popped up were resolved.

We have more server updates and another slew of bug fixes to share with you all. We would also like to take this opportunity to address the most major concerns that we have noticed you have had.

Server Transportation & Commands
In order to remain competitive with other large networks, MCGamer V2 brought an array of necessary updates and features to the MCGamer Network. Many of these are improvements to our server infrastructure, improvements and tweaks that work under the hood to make everything run more efficiently.

However, we have made a series of new commands and other utilities that will make traversing our network much easier. Some of the commands are identical to the ones you were using before, and some of them are brand new to afford you greater control over where you want to go on our network.

Here's a quick description of the transportation commands:

/servers: display help dialog / display bulk server information
/server: connect to a server for a given game, optionally specifying server ID
/join: same as /server, but it will only transfer you to a server that is accepting players
/watch: same as /server, but it will only transfer you to a server that is already playing

The /servers command will allow you to see general information about what servers are online when you give it a game, and it will also display a help dialog when you run the command by itself. This command doesn't actually transfer you between servers, the ones that do are outlined below.

The familiar /server command can still be used, so if your buddy tells you he's playing SG on server 123, you can use /server sg123 and go to their server easily. You can also use the command without a server ID, and it will connect you to a random server of the given game.

There are two new commands that act similarly, the /join and /watch commands. These commands will narrow down the servers that you will connect to, so you can specifically join a game that is ready to start, so you can get right playing, or so if you feel like watching games more than playing them, you can still find a server to spectate.

You may also want to use the quick warps. These can be accessed by using the compass in the first slot of your hotbar. These warps allow you to move around our hubs, to get to the games that you want to play.

Server Signs and IDs

There has been some confusion related to the server signs in the MiniHubs, and to a lesser extent the new nature of our server IDs. On our new server rotation system, servers will adjust themselves based on network load; the more players are playing, the more servers are created, and vice versa. As such, the system naturally works best with fewer signs in the hubs, as it will funnel people into games that need the players, and then rotate that game out of the cycle when it starts. Think of it like a Ferris Wheel: there may only be a single entry point, but people will be constantly boarding a cabin (or joining a server) because everything is constantly moving, allowing us to constantly offer servers to play in no matter where they are in the waiting line. This allows for a more streamlined way of managing the network load, and it is part of what truly makes MCGamer V2 what it is under the hood.

As explained above and below, you can still use the commands that you are used to in a similar manner as before.

Any given server will have a specific ID, and the server may take on any number of purposes; the server may be a hub at one point, and then switch itself to a game at some later point to adjust dynamically to our network load. Because of this, server IDs are independent of a game type, and you may notice large numbers being used as server IDs due to the large volume of servers. These server IDs are accepted in the commands outlined above (in the "Server Transportation Commands" section), and can be used to get around just as easily as you were used to previously.

Bug Fixes

As previously mentioned, we have fixed our fair share of pesky bugs, in no small part to you help on our GitHub Issue Tracker. Here is a brief list of the most major of these bugs.

    • Significantly improved the inter-hub chat system
    • Fixed an issue where players were sometimes disconnected from the server entirely when making room for a donor
    • Fixed an issue where players would temporarily retain items after being the victor of the previous match
    • Fixed the inability to break leaves in SG
    • Fixed achievement spam in SG
    • Fixed an error where the receiving hub would be full when using /hub or when being automatically returned to a hub
    • Fixed a typographical error in one of the /friend subcommands
    • Fixed SG not locating maps for the appropriate player amount
    • Fixed the /bugreports command not displaying the proper link
    • Fixed an issue with the starting countdown in SG being too short, increased back to 30 seconds
    • Fixed an issue with view distance hindering player visibility
    • Fixed an edge case with MiniHub game menus that could cause server errors
    • Fixed an issue with player disguises when assuming a disguised rank

We will be heavily monitoring our servers throughout the weekend, to ensure that we are providing the experience that you have come to expect from us. Thank you to everyone for your patience during the update. There will be exciting new features in the coming weeks, so stay tuned and you very well may see something that catches your eye!

Keep in mind (if you remember the MCSGv2 update last year), we had the same issues at launch which people hated at first because it was buggy/different. It ended up being the most popular SG plugin ever for over a year (and still is). Have patience, everything will be up to par by this weekend and we hope flawless within the weeks ahead.

regen hackers are back-.-
Yup, we know and it's on the list of bugs to squash.

Again report all bugs you see and also thank you if you already took the time to fill out the form here: https://github.com/MCGamerNetwork/Issues/issues

Kauff - We get more people just playing SG here than any other network. (Not adding up all of the gametypes combined for the total login amount)

@xSaw90 - Looks like again NCP issues which is on the list. Thanks for reporting this!
