Impersonating famous people won't make them do idiotic things. It's against the rules. Just because it's not listed as a specific example does not make it allowed, saying that you hacked someone is breaking a general rule of "Do not mislead people."

I know it wasn't, its just that a lot of people were doing it and they weren't being punished

On my evidence, they were in the screenshot as well, its just that I had my default chat color on yellow so it stood out more :/

Criminal activities (DDoS or Financial Fraud):

• Doing or making threats to DDoS or do any other criminal activity towards MCGamer will be a "no tolerance" perm ban.

This rule, specifically, applies to any illegal activity. Threatening to hack someone, or actually doing it, is against the rules. Illegal activity is not tolerated on our servers, and thus will be dealt with swiftly, whether it was a joke or not. Claiming it was a joke or that you did not mean it does not condone behavior that is against the rules that you agree to before logging in to the servers.

As for the comments stating that the other people were not punished: If they were too breaking the rules, then they too were dealt with for their actions.

Saying that you hacked someone's account, or saying that you are going to hack someone's account directly threatens the safety of other members of the community, and, as the rules state, we want everyone in the community to feel safe.

Either way, in the rules, it states that any criminal activity will be a no tolerance permanent ban, whether it was a joke or not. Hacking someone's account, releasing personal information, financial fraud, DDOSing, etc are all illegal actions.
