Is this right?

Is it fair to revoke the legit wins from people who have been banned for hacking before?

As colstar stated in one of his latest minor annoucments :
"User who have previous upheld hacking bans on their accounts will be deranked from the Leaderboards. Anyone who has ever played a game through unfair means does not deserve to be ranked amongst those who play fairly."

Now I have already brought up my argument with this to the community on the thread so if you would like to veiw it there where I have already argued with Colstar click on this link: http://www.minecraftsurvivalgames.com/threads/global-leaderboards-update-coming-soon.146861/

Now let me get started on this rant.

MCSG seems to see that statment as a viable thing to do, do you believe this? I find it completly outrageus. I understand that people who have previously hacked got some unfair wins but! People who have been reabliliated are also being prosocuted even if they have gotten many many legit wins. Now is this fair? Tell me what you believe

Here is my argument that I put on the thread:
This is really my only issue with this new update (And no its not only because "I" have been banned before for hacking, I feel many people will also be aggrivated by this point). What are you trying to accomplish with this new point? To make people leave the community? I don't feel I will enjoy MCSG as much "personally" if I am not able to be ranked anymore. I find this quite infuriating actually that you have brought the dread of being deranked from the community as if you don't see me as an idividual or anyone else who has a previous ban. Are we not people to you? Do we not have equality? I have worked so hard to overcome my cheated wins by winning many fair games and more than I won while cheating. Do those fair games not mean anything to you? How do you think this is fair toward the part of the community who have tried to overcome their hacking habits and become "legit" players just to be re-punished over their previous punishment which was a week ban.

Colstars response:
However, the basic idea behind the punishment is something that is quite definitive: players who have previously hacked (and thus gotten some ill-gotten wins) do not deserve to be ranked on the same level as players who have played legitimately. One factor we've found that turns people to hacking is the desire to win; they don't have the skills to play fairly, so they turn to hacking to boost their wins on the leaderboards. We hope to further discourage the use of hacks by hitting that type of hacker where they will feel it most: their leaderboard page. Our intention is to encourage fair competition with all players, and since using hacks will permanently misrepresent one's stats, hackers' stats should not be considered..

My response to this:
I would like to say that I did clean up my act and I barely got any wins while I was cheating and I got the majority of my 1000 + wins legit, this is the main reason I am outraged at that you think this is a appropriate way to treat your players. I have already been thrown down on the floor by the community for previously hacking and now you as the "owners" state that I still have equality to just turn around and throw this stupid argument at me. It is completly outrages and should not have even been brought up! You should have just stuck with the old method of removing perma banned players. Since I understand "some wins" may have been gotten from ill gains but what about the ones that didn't? Do they mean nothing? Nothing at all? Obviously they do mean something, you as owners are just being ignorant, it is as if you are spitting on us all, this is why I despise the MCSG owners because you are just plain out rude to your own loyal followers.

I have played MCSG for a considrible amount of time, a time I dread to even state. Just to get my rank now, think about a player who has devoted so much time and effort into getting this placement on the leaderboards just to be removed in short notice of the update. This is a horrific expeirence for me already and I don't know how I will react, this is just something I cannot let go as a "small thing". You have just irritated me so much right now I think MCSG is just being unfair to its own community.

This is all I have to state and I understand you will brush this away as another "minor" complaint but this will not be only me. When this update happens I am going to move to one of your opposing servers and I feel even though I dislike the server more than this one I will enjoy it more there.

Goodbye MCSG admins I hope you take this into account instead of brushing me away like im dust, as you usally do.

(also on top of all this remember I have spent money on this server for my donator that is pratically a waste to me now that this new rule is coming out, this is just another way for MCSG to leech even more money out of us)

Frankly, yes.

Hacking is considered a breach of the rules, and is completely unfair to the others playing the game. As CoL has already stated, they should not be ranked with those who play fairly.

Even if the player stops hacking, their statistics will still reflect the games they played with an advantage alongside their fair games.

As I have stated in my thread, it is a breach of the rules and their may be many ill gotten wins but the fact of the matter still stands there are also fair gotten wins, me personally being banned 2 years ago for something I only got 72 wins off of to get my whole 1000 + wins to be completly wiped out of the picture is outrageos. I do not agree with the way that this is being handeled and I think they should just stick to the old way they handled it before.

It is completely fair as hacking is against the rules, as Creeper674 said. If a player has been banned for hacking, it is more than likely, they used hacks or admitted to hacks; which is against the rules as mentioned before. It may be your personal opinion that they should still be ranked in the leaderboards, I understand that, but at the same time, it will reflect on the leaderboards and stats that they have had an unfair advantage in the past in some way as the stats on the leaderboards on their account would be abnormal.

Either way, this is your own opinion, and you are entitled to it as a member of this community.

I understand this, but by being unbanned they should be given all the perks back, I feel that when the previously banned user comes back they have less right than they deserve now we are meant to be "equals" but in reality we are still being treated worse.

Here's my take on it, if you're banned for hacking your stats should be cleared, but SAVED. Just incase you manage to dispute the ban, you wouldn't want to start over.

So cause I had brighter screen, that makes me 10x better at PvP I think not. And I might lose all my stats over it.

Atleast you are being more civilized than the previous mod who completly lashed out at me with no restraint and I understnad your point as well, I just felt I needed to let this out.

I actually think that would be a great idea but I think it should only count to a bad offence. Not something like player abuse or any minor thing, perhaps only from hacking or something really bad like that. But that's just my opinion :D
If you read the whole thread I do state this only counts for hackers.

No but what I'm saying is, even if you've won games legitimately, but also won while hacking, the stats should be reset anyways. There is no way of seeing which games were won by hacking. Although after the hacking ban expires. The player should then be able to start ranking up again with a fresh start. As for your legitimate wins that aren't going to show up on the leaderboards, it's your fault for hacking in the first place.
