Sound Effects while in game

So when the 1.4.4 update came out, something odd happened to my sound. While in the game, when I hit another player, the sound effect doesn't play. So it's silent when I am attacking someone. But for the rest of my sounds, I can hear it. Everything else is fine except for the sound effect of me hitting another player. I deleted my minecraft then reinstalled it. It's still the same way. Reply to this thread if you have an idea of how to fix it or what has happened. Thank you.

Its a CraftBukkit bug and the Bukkit Team needs to fix it (or, should I say, post this on Bukkit's Forums). However, the MCSG team can go hardcore and fix the bug themselves, I doubt that though.

Yeah, I highly doubt it. For most people, a missing sound effect won't make much of a difference. (it does for me, though...I like to know exactly how many times I hit the opponent before knocking them back, helps me better judge their health.) They have much worse bugs to work on first.

I know it's bad, you can't hear when someone does a crappy sneak attack on you and fall 10 blocks and take fall damage. WIthout sound you don't know they're vulnerable! #BlameClank
I think Mojang will fix it in 1.5, they didn't in 1.4.5. We just have to be patient.
