I've had an experience somewhat similar. I was bleeding in my dream and felt somewhat faint, and I woke up at about 2 AM. I had gotten stitches the day before in my arm (only a few, hurt my arm playing basketball) and the stitches had "ripped" so I was bleeding out my arm. I guess what it was for you was you started suffocating, it worked it's way into your dream even though it was happening in real life.
I could'v died right there. Holy poop! Highly appreciate the reply. <3

I would take this opportunity to preach to you about Jesus, but I don't think I'm supposed to do that on this website...
And yeah, I'm being completely serious.
I won't evangelize to you guys, but the story has something to do with it anyways. Whether you believe it or not, is up to you.

Here's a story of something that happened to my Mom's best friend, who happens to be a very devout Christian named Caroline.
One night, she had gotten into an argument with her husband. I don't remember why or what it was about, all I remember is that they hadn't been very pleased with each other. They went to bed quite upset, and hadn't forgiven each other. And some time in the middle of the night, Caroline woke up and was in a situation somewhat like yours - she was having difficulty breathing, and felt like someone was trying to strangle her by putting their hands around her neck. She opened her eyes, but no one was there and there wasn't anything physical around her neck. Being the Christian that she is, she immediately started saying in her mind, "Hallelujah, praise the Lord," over and over again. After a few repetitions, she was able to breathe slightly and started saying it out loud, in a low whisper. Again, she said, "Hallelujah, praise the Lord," many times. It took a few more times, but she became able to say it slightly louder, and louder again, until she was nearly shouting it but still felt like someone was trying to constrict her breathing. After some time, she saw what she believed to be Satan or one of his demons, trying to strangle her. It had manifested physically. She threw it off, and it faded.
After that scary event, she knelt down to pray to God, and tried to find out what had given it an opening to harm her. In her prayers, it was revealed that Caroline hadn't forgiven her husband from their earlier argument, and she didn't feel safe enough to stop praying until she had completely forgiven him.

I have a few more stories like this from church. Pretty interesting stuff.

Edit: I think Zaex might have a certain Family Guy line that he'd like to say...
That was a great story, and I don't think I know which Family Guy quote you're saying, as there are countless religion jokes/lines/discussions in Family Guy...

I have had these dreams, where I try to tell something to my parents, but I'm choking so I can't do it, it's so weird but I wake up normally and fall asleep again
Pretty weird that someone else sees them too!

I mean the closest I can come to relating to this is peeing in a dream and waking up realizing that I actually peed...

That called for some awkward explanations the morning afterward -.-

they say if you die in your dreams, you die in real life
An interesting concept.
Experiencing the horror of dying (in a dream) could cause your body to initiate self-destruct system in order to preserve your mind, and some weird stuff could happen. I know that it's possible, in extreme situations.

I don't remember anything I dream, unless if it is something utterly ridiculous, for an example: The last dream I remember is me eating ice cream then dropping it on my pants ;-;

Was probably a Lucid Dream.

When I saw the name, I thought A Nightmare on Elm's Street happened to you xD

I don't know much about a lucid dream, but I think a lucid dream is where you're aware while you're sleeping, thus, you can control what ever. I'm not sure if he is actually controlling what he is doing, since he didn't give much detail, but i'm pretty sure he would know if he was. There is also this side effect from lucid dreaming that possibly happens where you're paralyzed and you hallucinate, but I forgot what it was called
