My problem with the Forums and its users. [Rant]

Hey guys, so after my short break with focusing on Moderating duties, I am back to foruming and I have noticed a lot of things. This is a semi-rant so don't take it to the heart as it is not directed at anyone exactly. ​

So like I have said, I have noticed a big change happen, and that is with forumers or 'casual posters' as some may call them posting really unnecessary things that don't really contribute to the subject at all. A few months ago the forums were a place to discuss and share you opinions, now it's turned into a post-a-few word reply? So for example someone posts a thread like this one, I go on it to see lengthy replies bye Miner9823 and Mooclan and possibly other members that have a lengthy reply which I love to read. I then scroll down further to see that someone has said "Really good thread I agree with you" it just really annoys me to see people just agreeing with a thread and not posting their view on it. When people do it, all I think is that they are just pushing for post count to achieve the once rank of 1,000 posts. It might seem a bit hypercritical seeing as though I got 1,000 posts in 4 months, but I took my time, with the rate I was going at on the first day it would have taken me a month, anyway so I took my time and tried to post insightful replies and get my name out. Which I don't see people doing nowadays.

So as I end this thread, I want people who think they are posting a reply with a little amount of word count to try and expand their post as much as possible and it's totally fine if your reply is 3,000 words long, in my eyes, I would prefer that then a 5 word reply.

Again, this is just a rant and I'm asking everyone to post a lengthy reply/thought/opinion on the thread.

But in all seriousness, I see people just make random posts like 3 words and now that I look at it, I have done it a few times, I guess it would make sense just to not post something rather then have your post sit there unlooked at and completly off topic

Cool to know that you have problem with people writing between 3-10 words on a thread, maybe that's what they prefer, maybe they don't like to explain their view, you shouldn't go and judge them saying that they do it just to get 1000 posts.

You know what annoys me? People writing superfluously long posts when they could have communicated the exact same thing in half the number of words, in some vain effort to appear intelligent on an internet forum. Stop lamenting the length and bashing the quality of other peoples' posts and instead look to improve your own if they mean so much to you.

There were also a bunch of syntax errors, but who's counting? The point I'm trying to make here is that people can use the forums however they like (within the rules) and do not deserve to come under fire from some so-called 'forum god' just because of the length of their posts. You stick to your style of posting and let other people stick to theirs.

Never said I judged them, I wasn't speaking to anyone directly, these are my views and if they want to get 1000 posts in a week, so be it.
