I don't think that Ebola will become the hugest problem in wealthier countries. There's one case in the U.S, and the government doesn't tell us anything. Basically the epidemic is in Africa, and is probably going to stay in Africa as it gets larger. Also, Ebola has broken out before, twice I think, and we know all about it and how it spreads.

It saddens me how many people have already died from Ebola. I couldn't imagine having like something like that happen to me or my friends/family.

This is my opinion basically. I'm sure a lot of you know that there is 2 people, maybe more with Ebola in the US, I have no clue if they are under quarantine or what.

It won't, or at least you won't be affected by it. You can only get it by touching the bodily fluids of something that has been infected with Ebola

I think the only place that Ebola is going to affect is Africa. People who'll try and travel whilst having the disease will probably die before they get anywhere. To my past knowledge the Ebola virus is not airborne so it has to be spread by touch or how aids is spread to this day (which could still be catastrophic to 1st countries) however the Ebola virus is so effective at what's doing that the person will most likely be dead before they can spread the epidemic. The worst thing that can happen is what happened in Outbreak (great movie if nobody has watched it) is that the Ebola virus actually combined with the flu or another very easily spread or airborne. Now after that you think that we are screwed right? Well that's when the government. I'm pretty sure I heard that the USA has almost a book full of plans of what to do if an epidemic like Ebola enters America. Any person that is in America with Ebola at the moment is probably in a place that is restricted and secured it makes Area 51 look like a tourist site if that makes any sense. The only people with access to these patients or maybe bodies are either the worlds best doctors or people who've dedicated their lives to being able to track down and come up with vaccines for possible epidemics and these people are pretty damn smart. If a single town has multiple cases of Ebola that town will be shut down and locked up before even 8 hours can pass. This means that the town will be under quarantine and anyone that tries to escape this town will be shot. Worst case scenario the town gets a nuclear bomb dropped ontop of them. After that it won't take long until these epidemic experts come up with a vaccine which we'll finally see an end to the epidemic very few loses (on a global scale) but there is a chance that the Ebola virus combines itself with a superbug then we are all screwed. A global scale epidemic of Ebola is not likely since the government has been prepared for an epidemic to try and wipe out the human race. It can happen but it won't take out the entirety of the human race as not only does it have a 90% mortality rate (mathematically 10% of the population will survive) but there will easily be survivers but we may not be them. Remember the Spanish influenza and the Black Plague didn't kill the entirety of the population. If this happens many of us will become infected and probably die but if I have Ebola I'm either going to give my body to science so they could get a possible cure or burn my body so I take a little bit of the virus down with me, in a global apocalypse where all in it together and have to think about the wellbeing of humanity first before we do anything. A tiny part of me sort of wants the epidemic to spread just so those who don't believe in helping Africa removing famine, poverty and war gets a bite in the bum as if the whole population chipped in in helping Africa I doubt that this would be a problem, but yeah there's no reason to be scared even how gruesome the disease is.
