overall, YES PLEASE. But I do have one curious question about it. What about the people who purchased a stat reset that is now pretty much worthless? Seems like a waste of money based on the massive amount of them that was purchased. Also, with banned players, would their stats be on the leaderboardd? I know that due to glitches, sometimes they have a game rank and sometimes don't. How would this work in the legacy leaderboards? Would the glitch continue on it, or would it be saved, or would it be terminated completely?

I was once a new player. We all were new players at one point. I remember looking at the leaderboards and going "dang, 1000 wins? I'll never even come close to that..." Now I'm going for 4000 wins. I looked up to all those great players on leaserboards a year ago. Now, people look up at me. I was a new player. You were a new player. Everyone was once a new player. If you try, you can do it. But resetting stats because new people can't win? No. I tried so hard to get 1000 wins. Everyone else can also try hard to get 1000 wins. Cause what if I wanted a stat reset when I joined? Mhm? Took me over a year to get where I am today. Everyone else can do it too.

So.. I've read all the comments on this thread so far and decided to share my opinion on the topic.

I've noticed alot of people are saying something like.. "imagine if you had alot of wins and spent ages to get them just for them to be reset, it's not fair on them". I'm not sure you're correctly imagining what it's feels like to get alot of wins. To put it simply, it's boring. You win a games again and again and eventually it's not fun anymore. Eventually it leads to only competitive people getting to the top of the leaderboards (or near the top) and quitting MCSG because they have felt accomplished with what they have achieved. Personally, if I were graveyard I would relieved to have the legacy leaderboards update. To be able to keep the position of first on the MCSG legacy leaderboards without feeling the need to mindlessly grind out wins anymore. On that note though, if I were coming 2nd or 3rd on leaderboards and had been playing weeks on end to try and catch up to 1st and then this update rolled out before I could make it there I would be quite ticked off. I guess my point for this is that although you are trying to defend the people high up on the leaderboards you should probably let those people speak for themselves about this particular topic. (Don't vote for them)

I've also heard a few people saying if the leaderboards will get reset everyone will just grind to get to the top of the leaderboards and whoever is at the top will just be the person who no-lifed the most. This is somewhat true, if someone spends every second on MCSG and are half decent they will probably end up on top. However, even to get to the top of the current leaderboard you are going to have to grind out wins... there is simply no escaping it. Whether the staff decide to release this update or not you will still have to grind out countless wins to get to the top. However to get to the very top, I believe it's impossible to just no-life, you still have to be extremely good at the game.

Some people are saying that they will be disappointed that the wins they have achieved will be reset and that they will not feel motivated to get wins anymore on MCSG. This is understandable, I remember when I first started out every win I got I undeniably treasured and if they were all to be taken away from me by something like this is would seem devastating. However Col Star did mention in his post that mcgamer has "a very big update coming soon" (get keen). Perhaps there's something in the update to motivate you to gain those wins again?

After saying all of this it's entirely up to the staff of mcgamer to decide whether this update will be beneficial to the MCSG community or not. Personally I believe whatever is decided the community will be able to deal with it. After all, every once and a while a bit of change is good.

Everyone is saying mcsg will lose players because of this, but I know a lot of people who don't play mcsg, just because it's almost impossible to become #1 at this point. A leader boards reset will attract a lot of new people.
If they get reset, I honestly hope many people move away from MCSG.
I don't think MCSG even wants you after saying this, let alone care about your opinion.

I don't believe the leaderboards should be reset w/ a legacy one in plays. What Mr_Gears said was basically what I was going to say. When I joined in about September 2012 I didn't imagine I'd get to where I was. I slowly made my way into the top 100 Au players, 50 wins at the time, joined what was the best Au clan and eventually managed to become #1 in Au and about 10th in the world or so some time last year. I didn't think I'd ever reach something like that, but after a lot of hard work and a long time spent doing it I managed to succeed. Eventually, however, I lost interest and went very inactive; people overtook me and I fell further and further behind. Players can look at the current top 10 or so and think they can never compete, but with enough time the 'best players' will lose interest, and with enough time those new players can become the new top 10. If new players intend to rise up on the leaderboards they should have to put in as much time and dedication as those before them - if they're truly up for it and are good enough they'll make it. If anything this seems like an excuse for players that aren't very good to get some kind of glory for themselves. After the introduction of clans, MCSG got increasingly competetive - as a result, a lot more drama ensued. Clans have been blacklisted, players have been blacklisted, players have been permanently banned. I don't think an 'up' in the level of competetiveness is necessary, nor beneficial. The legacy leaderboards feel like a way for people who have worked hard to feel less disappointed - they'll barely mean anything to anyone within a few months of new leaderboards. Finally, what of the people that have bought a stats reset? I'm aware many have done this - do their wins prior to their reset go to the legacy leaderboards? What of the money then - do they get some refund each? A reward such as donor? What if they already have Plat, for example? I just see a lot of complications and unfairness with a stat reset, even with 'Legacy Leaderboards'.

This "No" campaign, and "Yes" campaign, remind me a lot of Switzerland's independence vote.
