Yo,

So I haven't really been playing video games for ages since I stopped Minecraft and broke my R4i Card on my DS- and since around May-June I've really wanted to get a PS4. I saved up enough money for a console + an extra DualShock 4 and a few games, however my parents aren't happy with the idea of me getting one because video games are damaging for the brain, 'I spend too much time on the internet/computer!!1!!!' and all that.

I understand I should respect my parents' wishes, but I've wanted one for ages and worked hard getting the money to get one and it's kinda disappointing. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for ways to convince them to allow me to get one. Also if you have any game suggestions that would be cool.

i s2g if you tell me to get a pc i will smash yo forking hed in (not really but i will be annoyed and sad and go cry in a corner)

UPDATE: I have now $700 to go towards buying it BUT ALL THE EBAY CHEAP ONES HAVE BEEN SOLD NOW EVERYTHING IS THE SAME AS THE RRP IN STORES I'M SO
I NEED TO SAVE MONEY SO I'M GETTING A CHEAP ONE
AND SCHOOL STARTED AGAIN SO I HAVE NO TIME TO MAKE A PRESENTATION, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO THE PROS OF HAVING A PS4 OR GOOD REASONS TO GET ONE

UPDATE #2: AMAZON IS CHEAPER THAN EBAY FOR PS4s I LOVE LIFE

Reason them how much work you put into getting this. Include math, by making a table and graph of things you sold, money you earned per week, and how much profit or loss you may have after buying the ps4. Use education in your reasoning to impress your parents, that's what I did to get a ps4. :p

THREATEN THEM

Jk, I'd suggest trying to prove to them that you deserve it since you've been such a lovely child...
You could also set up a family meeting and make a PowerPoint discussing the pros of you getting a PS4, positive repercussions and any other juicy details you can squeeze in there.

Well talk with them
A good stray is always to ask for something really big, and then something considerably smaller. But work your way down be like
"5 hours a day"
Hell no
"4 and a half"
No
"What do you suggest?"
"They will be tempted to take another step down instead of their starting opinion.
It's psychology b/c their mind sub-consciously memorized the patter so you can get at least 2 hours usually.
I play one
It's harder on Asian parents.

That is a very smart idea. Thanks for that man. I have Asian parents who absolutely hate the internet/computer games etc., it'll be interesting to see how this goes with them,

I will be doing this. My mum is a sucker for presentations, and since I'm lazy she'll be impressed that I bothered to do that. Thank you xD

When I actually get the PS4, I'll be sure to use this to see how much time I can get on the PS4 :p

If you saved up your own money, it's YOUR money. You worked for it, you get something in return.
I tried explaining that to them. I'll be adding it to my presentation though xD
