Erm, I think he might have been serious. Downs generally does actually mean "Down syndrome", if I'm not mistaken.
But yes, down syndrome is not a thing to take lightly, and it's actually quite rude and disrespectful to tease anyone about it - I just think that in this case, he wasn't teasing.
On that note, thank you to everyone who's willing to help those who have issues with suicide and depression.
As a person who has struggled with depression and attempted suicide, I can say it's really not an easy thing to go through, and a strong factor in bringing someone out of depression is having their friends stick by their side and work through it, together.
Ecclesiastes 4:12:
"
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken."
Going through depression alone is a surefire way to lose to it. Even the strongest-willed people can succumb to the dark tendrils of thought that may invade their mind. Having a friend, or even better - two, can help you a lot. Not just school friends that you talk to a few times during the school day - I mean real friends that are willing to help work with you on your personal issues and insecurities, and someone that you can trust with your darkest feelings.
I've noticed that during the past two weeks, I've started to slip back into depression, because of my family being a lot more harmful, verbally, towards me. If it continues to get worse, I might PM some of you guys to talk it out
