MCSG's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

So I'm sure everyone knows about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. TheRealAussie and I were talking about we should bring it to the forums, and now, I have

RULES:
When someone nominates you, you must nominate other mcsg players to do it aswell

You MUST do it within 24 hours (if you do not want to do this challenge, no worries. It's mainly just for fun.)

If you do not do this challenge, you donate 100$ to ALS. Once again, no pressure if you don't want to do this

You must make a video and post it here, including you tagging someone from the MCSG forums to do the challenge next.

We actually talked about this in my PLTW class. Why not pour the water AND donate? It helps you in some ways, but it mainly helps the people in need and the organization.

If I'm not mistaken, originally, if you were chosen, you would have to donate 10 dollars and pour the water, or if you declined the challenge, you would have to donate 100 dollars. I guess people just think accepting the challenge is a compensation for actually dishing out money, which is pretty useless. Sure, it's spreading awareness, but if nobody actually donates then it's pretty much useless.

*edit* I understand why they decided to launch this challenge (to raise awareness), but I think it's distracted from the true cause and reason why you're doing it. Most people that do the challenge most likely don't even know what ALS is, and just think it's something the cool people are doing. Like it's just an ensemble of three meaningless letters.

Exactly. Bucket of water being poured doesn't help them at all. Being blunt here. The donations count towards something useful. Research equipment, technologies to help out the diseased, and other useful causes. Pouring water on your head..what does that do? Raise a slight bit of awareness for a short while? I think, again, you should donate, regardless.
