What I don't understand is that staff disagree that's offensive... they say "Just because people take offence to it, doesn't mean it is an offensive term" OMG, you don't know how annoyed I get when mods say that. The rules say if a player is being antagonized or whatever it is against the rules... is that not the motive of the person saying " get rekt, ez gg10 "? What makes me lol is that the term " You suck at Minecraft " is considered harassment but " rekt " and all that crap is not. If someone said that I suck at Minecraft I would just lol, I wouldn't even be able to take them seriously, but when someone says the ez crap it gets to you, it annoys you, it can upset you. I haven't seen the staff back up " Just because people take offence to it, doesn't mean it's an offensive term " with good facts...
I know plenty of PvP communities that make eZ, rekt and such muteable or bannable, I don't understand why MCG can't do the same? They better start making saying ez and rekt bannable because I've already seen complaints from people who have came from the Antvenom network complaining about this community with the members saying all this gg10, ez crap. Does the Staff want this community to be also known as the place where everybody will say eZ to you when you die? I damn hope not because the toxic players is what is holding back this community and more and more toxic players are coming to the Network and damn, if a rule is not put into place against eZ and rekt, I don't even want to imagine the in-game community in the future. Staff, don't you realize that making a rule against this is what's best for the community? Countless amounts of people like me are going to be leaving because of all the crap they get from these toxic players. I know for a fact MCG does whatever they can to help players feel respected... but not putting any rule against this is contradicting that... I guess all we can do is cross our fingers at this point.

Honestly, the only way I see the "get rekt 10 harted" crap going away (and even then, very slowly), is if MCG made it against the rules if players are found to be saying them. I can see how it would be possible now to finally implement one, as most players are simply doing it now as a very slight form of harassment. It's a way to get a reaction out of someone, and a negative one at that. It's almost always guaranteed to anger the opposing player, and I've often seen fights over it. This causes more rules to be broken, and overall, it's just not a good thing to do.

In MOST communities spread across many different games when I first started PC gaming, most of them had rules against using chat speak, aka "dud3 th4ts s0 1337 lul". This was generally against the rules because it also spread like wildfire, and eventually caused arguments on forums, in games, and the likes. Here's a weird analogy: Do you at the age you're at now feel like you would enjoy only ever being allowed to converse with 4 year olds? The overwhelming majority would probably choose no, because within only minutes of frustrating conversations with the only people in the world you're allowed to talk to (4 year olds), you'd probably rather keep to yourself and never talk to any of the others in the world. That's how us who don't ever use these terms feel, just replace the word "world" with "server". When I see someone tell me that I just got gg rekt, and then their buddies say lul ownd in chat right afterwards, I actually feel like in that moment that I am but one normal person being forced to socialize with 4 year old children. I personally feel like the actual community has become less social in game (only speaking in game during matches). This is BAD. This means new players aren't even doing the weird things the majority of new players have always done in the past. I even find this type of talk used in the two active hubs, 1 and 8.

Either way, that was my rant on this topic, again. Just this time I posted a different perspective. I think rules against multiple offenders of just all around being assholes on purpose should be punished in game. Just like a 4 year old, they should get disciplined.. Often.

Great post! I just wanted to mention that I do and always have punished them for saying that stuff, for abuse; which is what it is. Hopefully the other mods do as well. Some say we shouldn't punish for it, but the way I see it is that abuse is against the rules, and there's no way to say that "rekt","gg10" etc., aren't forms of abuse. Maybe not the most severe form of abuse, but abuse nonetheless. Therefore saying those things is against the rules, it's simply logic.

The funny thing, well actually more sad thing is that the only people who will say those things aren't abuse are those who do it and think it's okay to be an a***hole. Really feeling sorry for those people when they get into the real adult world.

Also, don't bash on Shadow for being a hypocrite. I do the exact same thing. Don't think of Shadow as a role model, but as a person that's trying to improve himself and others.

Oh man, so true. If only there was a way to punch someone in the face through a computer screen. Either way though, these people have issues and they're going to suffer in some way or another from it IRL.

I agree, but it's kind of like how each new generation of people differs a bit. For example, kids at the age of 6 already have iPhones, are spoiled, swear at their parents, and are overall brats. When I was a 6 year old, I would have never had and iPhone, nor would I have been disrespectful to my parents because I had no idea what a swear word was. Plus, I am a firm believer that nothing can ever be the same. Maybe everyone could be a bit more respectful by not saying "GG you noob get good!!" but you will always have that one player that will. Personally, I never say "gg" due to flamers.

As for the DDos threats... If anyone ever threatens to DDos you, take a screenshot and they won't be very happy with their decision. Also, watch who you add on Skype. I really hope no one ever get's offended if I don't add them on Skype, but it's due to all of the people that want to DDos me for helping the server. xD Just be safe everyone, and report if anyone ever does that to you.
