I think medals are still a WIP, especially since not all of the medal emblems have been made yet.

In general, though, I like the idea and implementation of the medals, and it'll give us the ability to reward people for achievements beyond ranks or statuses. Personally, I'd prefer military-style medals and ribbons, but maybe I'm biased.

Did you ever play Battlefield 2?
I loved the massive amount of medals and ribbons one could earn. When I'd rank up in-game, the game would play drumming music and say "You have been recommended for promotion". Made me feel so cool as a younger kid.

My thoughts exactly, and man those awards were gratifying. I like the sheer mass of them available in BF3 and 4, but I always preferred the official-looking ones from BF2. I hope that sheer amount of gratification will be enough to encourage people to participate more to get more medals.

Currently they seem to be staff-only stuff. Later on, we'll branch out into more once we can start getting more traction with this. Personally, I'd like to keep medals participation and accomplishment-based, and not based on stats or meta-games a la trophies. I'd like to see medals awarded for participating in certain events, reaching a certain level on the leaderboards, or finishing a project assigned to staff. I have some ideas, but we'll see what everyone else wants too.

Just request the desktop version.
1. Can't really do on Safari.
2. It's laggier.

Having event-related medals would be pretty neat.

I think if there are a lot of medals in the future having them under names might make pages kinda busy. If it were possible, it would be cool to have a medal display somewhere on your profile page.

I'd love to have some sort of medal for regular users who put forth effort to benefit or make a change in this community, not just things like being a staff member or winning an event. For example, Ikanacanyon7 has been recently creating extremely thoughtful posts, but doesn't really receive any love for them (except from me <3 ly ikana)
