Exclusive Region Maps

Hello!

I thought of this idea a while ago, and actually told Chad about it so I just wanted to get an opinion from the community.

So the idea is that for every Region, they could have an exclusive map just for their region.
This map could be a famous landmark from the region, or something that region's community would want.
For Example:

AU could have a map based off the Harbour Bridge or Sydney
EU could have Paris, or Venice etc.
US could have New York or Las Vegas etc.

I thought it would be a creative idea, an realistically designed of the actual landmark.
Obviously Build Teams would have to the make the map, and Devs would have to organise how the maps would be exclusive to the region.

This is a really nice suggestion! One problem could be found...

What if there is the best map ever, something everyone in the community wants to play on, but it was in the Australian servers... and us Canadian, European, and US players have problems with ping on Australian, would I have to physically go to Australia, just to get the good connection, and play the map? Or is this the whole purpose of the suggestion?

I like this idea! Its worth the try! If it ends up being unpopular it can just easily get removed like they do with any underplayed map.


For SA servers there could be the Iguazu falls! Oh wait.... there are no southamerican servers, dangit!

Back when I was Staff, I recall that there was a lot of emphasis on updating all the regions as quickly as possible with new maps so that certain regions didn't feel left out. How is it fair if one region gets an awesome map and another region doesn't? Exclusive doesn't necessarily mean good.

How does having maps exclusive to a region promote anything? It's not like we're trying to get someone who lives in Australia to move to the US... Nice idea, but I don't really see a point in it.
