Hello!

I thought of this idea a while ago, and actually told Chad about it so I just wanted to get an opinion from the community.

So the idea is that for every Region, they could have an exclusive map just for their region.
This map could be a famous landmark from the region, or something that region's community would want.

For Example:

AU could have a map based off the Harbour Bridge or Sydney
EU could have Paris, or Venice etc.
US could have New York or Las Vegas etc.

I thought it would be a creative idea, an realistically designed of the actual landmark.

Obviously Build Teams would have to the make the map, and Devs would have to organise how the maps would be
exclusive to the region.

Tell me what you think! <3

That'd be interesting actually.. nice suggestion, I haven't heard of this one before.

Like, Castle Dracula could belong to Europe [because Transylvania.]

or maybe not, you never know
Okay then, say person A was from EU and really liked the AU map is it fair that he has to endure 400 ping to play on AU? The idea of the maps aren't bad but limiting them to one server is a completely horrible idea.

CA should be like Niagara Falls or downtown Toronto. Would be pretty cool. :)

Only problem is some regions like US or EU are a larger region, meaning they should probably get a couple maps as they are such a big region.

if all servers are hosted from one place, and people from all over the world can connect to a single server, how does this work?

I like this idea. It sounds like it would be kinda fun to get to play a game on our country's landmark or big city :D

The MCSG servers are hosted in databases all over the world. o_O Is that what you meant?

I do like this idea, although I do have two questions/concerns:

1. Who would build the maps? If they were going to be maps that were definitely added to the servers, odds are MCSG would ask RF and TE to build them. With some of the mixed reviews that maps such as those receive, do you really want that? For example, that map.. what was it called... the first one to ever have two cornucopias. That one, which was on 48 player servers as well and had the invisible glitch. From what I know, people actually disliked that one from the start (Or at least, the people that I spoke to regularly at the time.) and yet because TE built it, it wasn't removed for a long time. (Is it even gone yet? o.o)

2.

This ^
While on paper it sounds like a nice idea, there is a large chance of this happening - in fact, I would be absolutely astonished if this didn't happen; people think the AU maps are the best or something, or the ones that they like the most, but because they're from, say, EU (just taking darkrai's example, basically) they have issues playing on it due to relatively high ping compared to the other AU players, and are thus at a natural slight disadvantage, such as taking items from the chests at corn all the way to PvP itself - This really could turn it into Ping V Ping, instead of Player V Player.

3. This one is a smaller question/concern, but: How do we decide which landmarks? Do we just let the staff decide, or the builders? Maybe a community vote?
???

However, I still really like the idea of maps based off of region landmarks. It would give an interesting exercise for the builders, a series of new maps for the players, and hopefully fun for everyone if it can be worked out.

Just a little suggestion that someone has already mentioned I think, but perhaps make the maps based off the landmarks, and then just apply them to all the servers.

Here's another thing with AU, I know that it is hosted in Austrailia but you still get a fair amount of New Zealander's going on it as it is where they get the best connection too, so there would be some arugemants about what happens there as its not just all Australian's.

Do you mean The Fallen Empire? If so, it is still on the servers and whenever it pops up between the available maps, I usually vote on it. It is a really good map in my opinion, but people probably dislike playing on it as it can take a long time before the game is over. Luckily it is getting a revamp so I hope that it gets played more often after the update.
