Hello MCG, I come with a very important question, please, I cannot have any "I think" answers, I need a definite answers.

My iMac's been very slow lately, mostly because of all of the things I have on it. I want to factory reset it. Although, I have some very important questions
--

Green: Not that important
Red: Extremely Important
Yellow: In the middle

[1] If I factory reset my mac, what will happen when I restart my Mac?
[2] Will my operating system (Mountain Lion) have to be purchased again?
[3] Will I have to pay anything in order to use my Mac again once I factory reset it?
[4] If I do reset it, will I be able to set my Mac up as if it was new again, and I still won't have to pay for a operating system?

[5] How do I factory reset my Mac?

If I factory reset my Mac, and I have to pay for the operating system, but someone told me otherwise, I will no longer be able to play on my Mac.

PLEASE, I DESPERATELY NEED HELP.

Perhaps you should have a title that is more related to the thread contents, as you know, that's what a title is supposed to be.

Factory Reset will erase everything. It will revert to when you first turned it on, how many years ago. I would back up my files (on a separate external drive) , and write down my programs on a sheet of paper so I can re-download it.

If your computer originally came with ML, then you will still have it. If your computer came with a different OS, then you will have to redownload ML from the App Store on your dock (assuming you bought it there).

I'm 80-90% sure.

I have Mavericks, which is free off of the app store.

So, when I turn it on, will I have to pay?
This should answer your questions :https://discussions.apple.com/message/18724848

If you do a factory reset it should reset to the day they made it in the factory and delivered it to you.
How do I factory reset? Sorry for double post, but it's urgent.

What I usually do is delete all the free things that I haven't payed for to save on data space. Check your gig usage and see which programs is taking up most of your data space and see if you have payed for it so you're okay with deleting that stuff.
