SURVIVAL GAMES Can't see lightning.

As you would've guessed, I can't see in-game lightning. I have no idea why, and I don't know how to fix it, so I came to you guys for help. Also, I have Optifine and am using a Macbook Pro, if that helps.

Is this the lightning that happens when a player dies, or the running away from Deathmatch lightning?

I'm not being rude... I do play in my basement, and I do not see lightning when I play.

Well, if you look in the optifine video settings, you will find an option that pertains to weather. If that's turned off, lightning may not show up. I don't remember exactly where it is in the video settings, maybe under details or misc/other.

I have tried that several times and I still cannot see lightning.
