Alrighty, well.
*Rubs hands together*
I don't have much time to type because I'm about to go into a League game.

I saw a thread about something similar a long time ago - Removing them from the "What's New?" area. (Also, I believe I made a thread about doing that for Forum Games.)

I have had that thought several times, and I feel that having them removed from the Recent Threads area would be included in having them removed from the What's New category. Both, I strongly agree with.

I myself am a forum member who looks for places where I can contribute and help. I can't really do that on Clan threads... I just simply don't have anything to say unless I'm involved with that clan, and neither do most other people. If I did want to post something, I would just go into the Clans and Teams section. It's really not that hard, and having it bookmarked makes it even easier if I browsed there frequently.
Clans and teams are very restricted - You don't really need to know about them unless you're involved with them or another clan who may be interested in battling or something. Having them in New Posts doesn't really serve much purpose when you compare it to other things like a PSA, a discussion on something, etc.
I think I have had a similar experience. As I get into foruming, I have decided that the thing I want to do is find posts that are either semi-controversial that spark debate or a thread that I can overall do what Mooclan loves to do; write long paragraphs and what not about whatever the said topic is.

To do this, I am required to find that thread. Yet as Mooclan said, when I attempt to hit the What's New? Button, I am spammed with Clan threads and Forum games. These used to interest me, and I would browse them, but now days every two seconds I see a thread for a clan that has around 3 views and one or two comments. Normally I click on the thread to wish them luck, and I am struck by the most poorly written and horrendous page for xXrandomplayerXx's clan. These are the sort o threads that are now frequent on the forums.

*sigh*

I am in full support of the removal of both Clan and Forum Games pages, so that I can find something interesting that I can hope to write something enciteful and interesting on for people to enjoy. This thread is a perfect example of that kind of thing. For those of you out there, complain more! It lets me tell you to not complain, and all the reasons why!

I have exactly the same experience as well. I get bored and decide I want to write a long essay on a highly debatable thread. Then comes Clans and Teams. Bam. Nothing to do, because I can't find anything.

Edit it. Naow.
no seriously
Does this really need a huge essay? I find that on this topic a little gratuitous. A majority of people browsing the forums have little interest in the mass amount of clans being made (most of which don't last very long) and there's simply not much reason to have to see them. If it's possible, I'd prefer to not have them on there or have filters available. That's really all that needs to be said, anything else is just detail that's not necessary.

I guess that is right. But then again, everyone likes to see Mooclan write a massive essay.
I would like to have a Senior Staff's point of view on this topic.

To be honest, its harder to show who you are these days, and what you want to do to help the MCGamer Network. All you can really do is spam the "Clans and Teams" thread saying good luck on there clan. You know this is a pain and somehow it needs to be fixed, like said above you can only change little with Xenfero.

As much as I wish that both Clan and Forum Games threads do not appear on the "Recent Threads" section of the home page, I dont think it is possible.
The most likely thing is that this is just how Xenforo works.

It sounds in theory like a good idea, yeas. But then, there are the people who are actively involved in the clan side of things who would likely be annoyed if it were removed, same with the forum game threads. Just because some people are annoyed by it does not necessarily mean it should be nuked, potentially annoying other people.

As well as this, as has been touched upon above, XenForo does not really offer an option to exclude certain things from the Recent Activity and the What's New feeds. It probably could be done, but it would have to be done by manually changing the settings and code by one of the devs. which is really not worth it IMO - that's when things can become mucked up.

Another point to add - if you don't want to see the clan threads, simply browse by forum section.. sure, it may not be as convenient as clicking What's New and seeing every piece of new content, but if you click on a section if lists all the threads in order of last edit time, which is essentially the exact same thing.

TL;DR: Yes, it might make active forumers and people such as myself happy, but it would likely annoy others. And the devs time etc having to change XenForo = not really worth it.
