First off, /ping is not the most accurate way of checking your ping..

1.) Go into your Terminal, or CMD, and type in ping, don't press enter.
2.) After typing ping, press space and type in the IP of the server.

well they could abuse their ping by locking it in the cellar and forcing it to get better, another way of abusing ping is when you rape it in order to get it better. hope this explains a lot to you.
