This reminds me of myself a few years ago. I had a speech impediment which made all of my R's sound like W's.
I didn't actually hear it myself, all my R's sounded normal to me, but everyone else said that they sounded like W's and that I also had a slight British accent. But since then, I've gotten braces, and my speech is... more... normal. Aside from the massive words that I use when I get pissed off.
