Because the last time the world cup was hosted anywhere near South America was in 1986 (Mexico). Europe has the better teams now. Brazil are overrated in my opinion (although theyre hosting it, which is a huge advantage), Uruguay have shown that they're not gonna get far in this competition during last night's game against Costa Rica and Argentina lack a good defence.
