Ok guys, so you probally have all heard and saw the basic guides talking about all the items, how to use them, and all that stuff but no one really goes in depth on those. Mostly for 2 reasons. 1 being it takes to long for videos, or 2 it's hard to explain. Now to you players with a 1/2 ratio you might say "Why should I entrust your 1/6 ratio to teach me stuff" and I know there will be a couple who think just because there ratio is better they can diss my guide so let me just start this off to those people, if you have such a good ratio why do you need more tips? Apparently you're succeeding at how you play. Oh ya let me just add this, I'm an AU player so I have to kill daily top 100 players unlike Eu and US players.

So now that my bragging is done lets skip into the items and talk a bit in dept about them.

~Sword~
The sword is a simple melee item that there are a different types of weapons you can get. The lowest tier weapon you can get is a wooden axe which deals 3 damage now normally I see most players just ignore these in there videos because there is a common rumor that axes can't crit, but they actually can crit so 1 damage= 1/20 hp (half a heart) so 3 goes to 5 when you get a crit, of course armor comes into play. But that is still damage, if you're a good strafer/clicker you can prob scare off opponents by rekting them with a wooden axe, you can even use your secondaries to deal massive amount of damage with the likes of even a wooden axe.

-Criticals
Crits are quiet simple to explain, they take half the swords damage and adds it back on as extra damage. You will know when you get a critical as it will show particles, if you want to see particles from a crit hit easier I recommend downloading a pvp texture pack as they always seem to have easy to see crit particles, you can also make a default edit and change the particles yourself but now how do you get a crit? It's also a common rumor that crits will happen from just jumping, that's not true. You only obtain a critical hit when you're on the falling motion. Also here is a pro tip, when your opponent is in the air you can get a critical on them without jumping! You also can get crits from knocking your opponent into the air with the fishing rod, walking off a half-slab for a hit, anything that hits your opponent off the ground or makes you go down .5 of a block can make a crit. So get creative and test out new ways to do stupid criticals and abuse those ingame.

-How to counter criticals
Now one thing people don't really explain is how to counter a critical but from testing I've found the only way to protect yourself from a critical, and that is to jump when they're in the falling motion. This cuts off there crit pattern and will allow you to engage with yours. Don't believe me? Test it out yourself sometime!

-The Lock
Now most players that start to improve learn to abuse criticals more often but this comes with a down-fall, some top tier players know that if you time your hit correctly while you're opponent is in the falling motion you can knock them again into the air causing them to miss a hit so while you're bouncing them back into the air you will get 2 criticals vs there 1 crit, that becomes a trade off until the one dies, it's escapable but the one who got the better trade off can get a crit or 2 on there opponent if they try to disengage.

-Block hitting
This strategy is kinda frowned upon due to it's previous weakness that was stopping sprinting, but luckily now it's easier to use because of the sprint key so you can now while holding down your sprint, normally walk while block hitting, so now instead of making your speed the same as walking while in sneak to walking normally. This allows you to also strafe with this technique, so when do you use it? Don't rely on this technique because due to no-cheat you can possibly miss a hit or 2 if you use it at the wrong time. I personally like to use it only in close quarter combat or while stuck in a corner, I also sometimes use it in the end of a battle when I'm close to death to hope that I will block half the damage saving me and get a crit with it. Oh ya btw block hits give you a chance to blok 50% of the damage taken if it's timed correctly!

~Bow~
The bow is what I call a secondary weapon, most games have 2 main weapons, a melee weapon (Sword) and there Ranged weapon (bow) the bow is a very powerful weapon but it's downside to being so powerful is that it takes aim, knowledge, and ammo to use.

-Reading the opponent
Every opponent has a strafe pattern that they rely on at first until it's read. The most common strafe pattern is left, right, left, right, etc Most enemies start this pattern when hit by an arrow so getting the first shot then going left to right will get them in a bow lock, this is my personal technique that I recommend any users new to the bow use. Of course you need to guess where your opponent is going so they will connect with the arrow, but don't over guess. My main fault with the bow back when I first started was that I over predicted where they were gonna move to when they had no intentions of even moving a block to the right or so. Take your time with your first bow shot and remember to shoot just a bit to the side of where you think your enemy is going.

-Bow battles
These things rarely happen until death match, death match you better have plenty of arrows mostly vs a good player as pounding your opponent with these in close quarters can cause serious amounts of damage. So you better learn to fire back, when you shoot your bow jump a bit to the side and then draw back again, if you get bow locked (multiple shots that stop you from shooting) then shoot a single charge to interrupt there pattern which I call a "Bow stun" at this point you can double draw back (Bow spam) and get in your rythem, use the bow stun anytime you need to get back on your pattern. This is really hard to learn but you will learn this skill very quickly when you start approach the situation more often

-Bow strafe
Now that you learned how to use the bow and how it works lets learn how to dodge arrows, this is quiet hard to explain through typing but if you go watch my channel you can easily find multiple areas where I strafe, my usual strafe pattern is I go sideways, 2nd person perspective, and block and jump back and foreward and move away from my opponent. This strafe works well from long distance, but it's very easily readable from close range, when you're in close range try and spin your character all over the place to dodge the arrow, also use your rod to mess up there shot so you can move in if they are for sure not gonna be fighting you with the sword anytime soon. Also remember to use obstacles around you to hide making them charge in a bit.

-Blocking arrows
Blocking your sword when being shot by an arrow will reduce the damage by half. Normally when shot by an arrow in full iron (7.5 armor bars) you will take a total of 2 hearts of damage (4/20) but when you block your sword it only deals 1 heart (2/20). This technique mixed with strafing arrows will allow you to make your own original strafe pattern that you know how to use vs your opponents to dodge there arrows

-Extra tips
To find spare arrows around the map do f3+b to turn hit-boxes on, arrows that have been shot into the ground have a small square hit-box that is white which will allow you to see them so you can go pick them up. Also this makes aiming the bow a bit easier as you can see your opponent more clearly mostly on dark maps as the white lines allow you to see where to aim, this also means if they hide behind a tree you can see if there hit-box is poking out even just the slightest to get a shot.

~Fishing Rod~
The fishing rod is a very unused items by new players, most use it for only boosting enemies away or boosting team mates into enemies, but you can use the fishing way more ways then that, also 1 being able to get a couple of extra hits over your opponent!

-Fishing rod stun
The fishing rod stun is the reason people even bother keeping it in there hotbar, when you hit your opponent with the fishing rod it slightly knocks them into the air, now when this happens they get a slight second of invulnerability that also negates there attack so you won't get hit, but you can quickly switch back to your sword and while they're up in the air you can hit them once or twice (both being crits) if you want to re-use this method just step back after getting those 2 hits or so, if the opponent once again tries to rush at you just rod stun again and as long as they keep going at you, you can re-use the rod stun. You can also use this method not only for engaging into fights but for fights that you're already in, so say you're fighting someone and you're trading hits. You can allow your opponent to get 1 extra hit over you so you can fishing rod stun them mid-fight this allows you to get into a pattern where you can hit them and they will lose there pattern making it hard to readjust because the fight is already in progress and usually allows killing the opponent much easier, most fights between 2 players who rely on the rod the first 5 seconds of it is just them rodding each other back until one gets the upper advantage.

-Offensive Rod Stun
Now the rod stun also helps with knocking your opponent while they're running. Now a common players response to this technique is, "But doesn't that help them gain distance?" and the answer is, yes. If not used correctly. The way you use the rod stun while chasing is to rod them to the side not forward this allows them to get knocked into walls or corners allowing you to gain distance and extra hits. also when trying to finish off the enemy when they hit a wall is fishing rod the right side then go for a hit on the left. this means they will knock back into the left side where the hit is or you will them them to the right side when you go for the hit on the left. See where I'm rodding from? (bad pun, Ik, I'll stop. Sorry.) You guarantee a hit. This tactic helps make chasing people easier, also this means they won't try to 180 fns because the rod might make them mess up meaning you gain a block of distance on them.

-Rod Charge
This tactic is where you simple use the rods knock-back to knock your opponent off focus when charging at them while they try to shoot you with the bow. There aim will be at you and if they're good with the bow it will connect, unless you mess up there shot by rodding them making the shot so completely the wrong place. This is a simple tactic you most likely would've picked up naturally as you use the rod more often and getting better but might as well let you learn it right off here instead of naturally when it would've been useful before that.

-Rod Defense
The rod doesn't always have to be used for fighting or offensive tactics, you can also use it defensively. Like when being chased you can quickly eat then rod the chaser back a bit allowing you to eat and keep the same distance on them as you had before.

Also when you're being chased in the water you can rod them back which you most likely already knew of even if you were new to pvp. Also you can use this to knock chasers following you up vines/ladders off. Also to achieve high ground you can rod them off the cliff/bridge or whatever. These are simple things you will use naturally with the rod and you will pick up more ways just by playing in the situation. As you learn to utilize the rod more you will find out your own strategies/techniques for it. Also you will find other players using there own techniques that you will pick up from them.

~Flint and Steel~
FnS as it's more commonly known as is a very majestically and powerful item when used properly. Since the recent change of updates with the sprint key pvp got faster, meaning the rod wasn't used as much for engaging battles. Now most people use this amazing item to engage battles. But I personally use it to start, leave, dodge out battles. But here's the basics you need to know about this item before you learn more in depth techniques on how to use it. Flint and Steel has 5 uses in total every charge lights one block on the ground you aim at on fire, if someone steps in that fire it will leave them burning (Lit up) dealing a 8 second DoT (Damage overtime) of half a heart (1/20) each tick of the 8 seconds. Usually casuign 4 hearts of damage but every 8 seconds you regain 1/20 health (half a heart) so it deals 3.5 (7/20!!) Yes this means you can kill someone with fire with just 3 continues fires but most players won't charge at you again after the first fire is placed, missing or lighting them up. So do not rely on FnS as you're main source of damage.

-Engaging FnS
This is a simple strategy any huahwi viewers have seen plenty of times. All you do is place the where your opponents going the block 4 away from you on fire then switch to your sword and start to hit them while they're set on fire. Now this strategy is good as it can make your opponent miss hits and take bits of extra damage but it has no use if you keep battling them until they're dead. Usually what you do if you want to make that use actually useful is hit them until they're around 1 heart and let the fire take them away also known as disengaging->Bow shot

-Disengaging FnS
This strategy is commonly known, yet. But it's quiet simple for any users who hot key. It's self explained pretty much. While in the middle of the fight or when they're around 2.5 hearts you light there feet on fire and run away-> bow shots to kill them. Also if you're severely at a disadvantage you can use this to scare your enemy away by keeping them low or just making them afraid of the fire.

-Experience Player FnS
Most experienced players won't fall so easily for any of the above 2 tricks but from playing AU I'm forced to learn how to light them up, this strategy has worked very well for me lately and goes a bit like so, when they go in to engage for battle a usually experienced player goes for the left strafe so what I like to do is place 2 blocks to my left a FnS, they will be blinded thinking it's a bad FnS when they go for the strafe they find themselves on fire. Now usually I don't do this first fight, I usually offensively find there strafe by going in for just a quick test then place it to where they usually strafe as some go to the right, but most Top Tier players (top 500) have learned to strafe left.

-180 FnS
This I've been learning quiet well recently, 4 block 180 FnS is deadly as it's unexpected and can freak players out. Mostly vs top tier players. This strategy I only like to use in close quarters thought because it makes aiming a bit easier. If you find yourself not being able to do these quiet well don't rely on it like me as it can become a complete waste of FnS. Having high sensitivity on your mouse/minecraft makes this a bit easier as you have to do a turn motion which already slows you down a bit but with low sensitivity just grants a hit for the opponent. Now as you get better with the 180 FnS you will find yourself never being hit even if you miss the FnS. Another way to use the 180 FnS is to just wait for your opponent to come at you, light them up then run away. This strategy kinda goes like this, FnS->Bow Shots->Rod Spam->Chasing+Rod spam->Kill this is my personal strategy that works well.

-Extra tip
Place it a block in front of them

~HotBar~
The hotbar is the most important thing in this entire guide, because you can know how to use every technique and strategy/item on this guide but what's the point of knowing it if you can't feel comfortable using it. That's why you need to find your personal hotbar that YOU feel comfortable with. I could tell you my hotbar and keys for everything but it might be different to what you're use to depending on your keyboard, how spaced out your keys are, your mouse, etc. My personal hotbar which has been proven to work for a lot of the top tier players is as so
for-guide.png

I hot key everything besides 5-8 my 9 hot key is actually the grave key which is this key ~/` It's right next to one making it very easy to press.

Also another hot bar I sometimes use is this,
for-gu2ide.png

If you have long slim figures then this hotbar will work much better as you can use your index figure for hotkeying and then your middle and ring figure for moving your character and holding the sprint/shift button.

Now of course these are just 2 hot bars you can try out but I cannot guarantee they will work for you, just go on roxbot or some kit server that has fns and all the stuff you need to practice and mess around until you find a hot bar you're comfortable with. You need to be able to switch to the items you need quick enough to make fast combos.

~Combos~
Now combos are when you get multiple hits using your secondaries to give you many hits over your opponent. So here are some strategies/combos you can try out and see which one works better for you.

-The Rod Combo
Enemy comes to engage, Rod->Sword->Repeat/Bow
-The Huahwi Combo
Enemy engages, FnS->Rod/Sword->Bow/Chase
-Bow Combo
Being chased, turn around->Bow->Rod->Sword->FnS Disengage->Repeat.
-180 Rod Combo
Being chased, turn around-> Rod->Sword
-180 FnS Combo
Being chased, turn around-> FnS-> Rod-> Sword-> repeat/bow/chase
-My personal combo
Enemy comes to engage, FnS-> Rod disengage-> Bow-> Chase/sword
-My other personal combo
Enemy comes to engage, Left strafe-> Rod-> FnS Disengage-> Bow-> Repeat.

These are just some combos I personally use or have used before. They're also quiet easy to pull off if you're novice at pulling off combos you will learn you go but just learn these before you try and make your own. If you want to see some of these from the players PoV definitely go check out my videos as I show off some of these intense combos.

Next up lets talk about killing teams!

~Teams~
One of the most annoying things for new solo players are teams as you know what they say, 2 heads are better then 1. Just remember this tip before you rage from losing vs a team. We all get mad, and we all hate teams. But we're all also hypocrites as we team ourselves, don't get mad, just take it as a learning experience and move on. It's OK to get frustrated and through something at the wall time to time just to let all of it go but don't let it hold you back. Now that you know this let me teach you what you can do to kill off those pesky teams.

First off is you need to know this. When you're getting 2v1'd the team usually lets there guard down due to feeling safe because of there team mate. This makes them soft and if you catch them off guard while they're alone you can most likely kill one of them. But it's quiet hard for experienced team players (Clan members usually) to leave them self alone without there partner so you can't rely on separating them as it can happen but usually rarely happens. So let me just give you a tip, fire=retreat for that member. When you light one up they kinda tag out. But what happens when you light the second one on fire? Do they tag out again or do they tag out fully? Most normal teams will tag back in the previous one, meaning they usually will have 4/20 health down and still on fire as you see in this clip from one of my videos I prove this re-tag strategy (Click on "Clip" for the video)

Now some also disengage as well but usually most don't. But if they do the only tip I can give is to rod spam to charge in but don't chase them for more then 40 seconds or else they can pull a turn around on you.

~Hackers~
Hackers are the most annoying little 12vie no lifes out there it's fine to rage but don't let it get the better of you, you know you're better then them. Just make sure to report them so they can't hack anymore on this server but recently regen hax has been less commonly found due to MCSG new anti-cheat auto ban system! So hopefully the only hacks we will have to deal with is aimbot/ff which is quiet easy compared to most hacks. No knockback makes it hard to do anything as you can't escape so hopefully you never have to vs a no knockback hacker. But I can help you with aimbot/killaura/ff hackers. The easiest way to deal with these are to play 100% defensive. This means Bow spamming them back and lighting them up constantly. Never go into a sword battle with them as it's almost certain you won't come out of it. So simply rely on the bow/FnS to kill them.

This is just kinda part 1 to a pro guide I will make a 2nd one talking about more combos/Tips&Tricks if you guys want. But that's all I can teach you for now. So hopefully you enjoyed! Like I said if you want to see these tips in action, check out my channel for more! :)

I suggest adding a section on regular sword combos that can be achieved by strafing.

Only combos you get by using the sword is through ping abuse. No point making an entire section on sword combos when I already covered how to use the sword when it would just talk about ping which isn't really a tip.

I have 40-50 ping and I can get insane combos, ping isn't the only skill to the sword. Using positioning correctly allows for killer combos

Yes that's true but I already talked about charging in for a left strafe, it's kinda self explained how to position correctly and it's very hard for me to explain at least from typing it. Maybe a video example would be more helpful there. I will go into that more if people want a 2nd part to this guide. But thank you for your feedback :)

Awesome guide bro! You should add a section on things like chest routes and armor protection and weapon damage!

Never leave the cornucopia without getting something at the beginning unless you have a very good chest route. Also, I suggest that you should go back to the cornucopia when the clock hits 17:00 because then the chests re-stock. This is a VERY risky move, but if done correctly, you will have a MUCH GREATER chance of winning the game.
